Conveniently located next to the Thorn Tree Inn, this quaint dwelling boasts magnificent countryside views and a private grape-slate garden with furniture, perfect for staying in or going out to explore the local area. On arrival at the property, the characterful sandstone property offers a pleasant bench at the front where you can soak up the sun before entering into the open-plan living space. Here you will find a kitchen fit with all the necessities to whip up a delicious meal ahead of a day of adventures. Enjoy your meals in the dining area, before retiring to the sofa to watch TV with your feet up as the woodburning stove gently warms the space. Moving through the property and up the stairs, the mezzanine bedroom is home to a plush double and boasts amazing views over the countryside hills out the window. Completing the interior is a shower room, fit with a walk-in shower, basin and WC where you can get ready for the day's adventures. Savour a glass of wine with alfresco dining outside; climbing the stone steps to the slate-floored courtyard, complete with dining seating and a private and tranquil space to soak up the last of the summer sun of an evening. Matlock and the surrounding areas are a walkers and nature enthusiasts haven; home to some of the most beautiful countryside in Britain, you are sure to find an attraction for you, whether it be immersing yourself in the town's history or taking a trek off the beaten track. Visit Heights of Abraham for an afternoon of exploring the caverns and caves of the district, where you can also take a cable car to the top to view the spectacular landscapes. Animal lovers will enjoy the nearby Matlock Farm Park, home to cute farm animals and a lovely café where you can stop for a light lunch. Brush up on your history by visiting the Peak District Lead Mining Museum, home to exhibitions on the lead-mining heritage of the Peak District from present day and dating all the way back to Roman times. Close by, Matlock Bath plays host to Lover's Walk, a romantic riverside walk along through the woodlands and up to the clifftops. Further walks can be found at Lea Gardens, or further afield venture into the lovely Peak District towns of Bakewell and Tideswell. Matlock is a popular town resting in the Peak District, Derbyshire. The area, along with Matlock Bath has been attracting walkers, cyclists and tourists for a number of years and is known for its magnificent views of the of the rolling hills. Matlock is conveniently located in the wooded gorge at the River Derwent and boasts a number of characterful shops, pubs and restaurants. Attractions include the Peak District Mining Museum and Gulliver’s Kingdom, while nature lovers will enjoy the water gardens and Owl Maze at the Heights of Abraham.
