Guests say

Guests consistently praise School House Cottage for its stunning, peaceful location and cleanliness. The well-equipped cottage offers a cosy retreat with beautiful views, ideal for walking and enjoying the countryside. The thoughtful touches by the host, including a welcome gift, add to the charm of this rural getaway.

Reviewers frequently mention the exceptional cleanliness of the cottage, describing it as 'exceptionally clean' and 'very clean', indicating high standards of hygiene and upkeep.

The cottage's location is highly praised for its tranquillity, stunning views, and proximity to walking routes and towns. Its remote setting is appreciated for a peaceful retreat, though some noted the need for careful planning due to limited phone signal.

The majority of guests find the cottage comfortable, highlighting the cosy atmosphere and comfortable bed. However, a few guests mentioned that the lounge seating could be improved for relaxation after a day of walking.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, with the cottage being described as well-equipped and well-appointed. Some guests suggested additional walking information and a freezer, and one noted issues with the shower temperature control.

Guests appreciate the thoughtful gestures, such as a pint of milk and chocolates in the fridge. While these gifts enhance the experience, it is noted that such personal touches, though delightful, are not guaranteed with every stay.

Very relaxing. I love to relax in the sunshine, a sun lounger would have been perfect for me. We made the mistake and put the address in goggle maps, it took us to Ashbourne, we should have gone with your written directions, our fault but we got to the cottage eventually. The milk was a god sent, I forgot to pick some up on the way, thank you. Alan enjoyed his Birthday get away. Thank you x

A hideaway but close to the town. Comfy beds. Ample amounts of hot water to soak in the lovely rolled top bath. A paddock at the side of the property for your dog. Our third time here.

Beautiful location with views that even the weather couldn't spoil. Can't wait to return later in the year. Thanks Jo for your hospitality. Victoria xx
