About this property

Miller's Dale 2.7 miles. Tucked away in Taddington near Miller’s Dale in Derbyshire, is this wonderful three-bedroom, stone-built cottage, Woodgate. Enjoying a fantastic location within the Peak District National Park, as well as a character-filled interior with exposed stonework and original beams, Woodgate is a fabulous choice for couples or a family of five. Be welcomed into the snug, where you can look forward to evenings relaxing on the plush seating as you enjoy a movie night with loved ones on the TV. Move through to the spacious open-plan living space, where you can rustle up tasty dishes in the fully-equipped kitchen, savour your meals at the dining table for six, or curl up with your favourite book in front of the crackling woodburning stove. Just off the kitchen, you will find a handy utility, as well as access to the rear, enclosed garden. Continue up to the first floor, where you can wash away the day with soak in the bath or freshen up under the overhead shower in the well-appointed bathroom, before retiring to one of three beautifully decorated bedrooms, a king-size, a twin and a single. Explore the local village, where you will find the welcoming Queens Arms, serving local ales and home-cooked meals, it is the perfect spot to refuel at after a day of adventure. Next stop is the bustling town of Buxton, where you can tour the Buxton Museum & Art Gallery, catch a liver performance at the Buxton Opera House, explore depths at Poole’s Cavern & Buxton Country Park, test out your swing at the excellent golf club, or hike up to Solomon’s Temple. Be sure to visit Castleton, where you can explore the fascinating Blue John Cavern, as well as Speedwell Cavern, Peveril Castle, the Dark Peak and the imposing Mam Tor. Further afield, you will find Bakewell, home to the Bakewell Old Museum, the traditional Bakewell Pudding and the esteemed stately home of Chatsworth House. All this and more awaits at Woodgate.

This charming community is nestled in the Wye River valley, right in the middle of the Peak District National Park, which is known for its beautiful walking trails. It's possible to get some grub at the local watering hole. The village was named after the most popular of several picturesque dales that can be reached by foot from this section of the Wye; other options include Chee Dale, Water-cum-Jolly Dale, and Monsal Dale. Miller's Dale, on the other hand, is regarded as the most stunning and comprehensive dale because of its abundance of natural difficulties, such as hills to climb over, gaps to squeeze through, gorges to traverse, and rock walls to climb. A great place to relax right in the middle of the Peak District.

It is furnished to a very high standard and the kitchen is very well equipped. The owner has thought of everything to ensure an enjoyable stay. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

A heads up that there are two key boxes on the rear of the property - the correct one to use is the one on the left (immediately around the corner from the back door).

It's very convenient for exploring the Monsal Trail & surrounding area.
