The Hayloft is a spacious and well-situated cottage in the Peak District, offering picturesque views and a peaceful setting. Guests appreciate the comfortable beds, welcoming host, and the property's proximity to local attractions and walks. While some guests have highlighted issues with cleanliness and maintenance, others have had enjoyable stays with positive experiences of the property's amenities and character.
Cleanliness has been a recurring concern among guests, with several mentioning dust, mould, and a lack of basic cleaning supplies. However, not all reviews mention cleanliness issues, indicating that experiences may vary.
The location is highly praised for its scenic views, proximity to walks, and peacefulness. It is well-regarded as a base for exploring the Peak District, with easy access to local attractions.
Guests find the beds very comfortable and the living spaces generous. The property is described as a relaxing retreat, although some have mentioned it can be cold, suggesting room for improvement in heating.
The facilities, including the kitchen and bathrooms, are generally appreciated, but there are reports of maintenance issues such as non-functioning appliances and inadequate heating. The presence of en-suite bathrooms and a well-equipped kitchen are positives.
While some guests mention receiving eggs, there is insufficient information to assess the overall thoughtfulness of the host in terms of consistent gestures like welcome packs. Therefore, this score cannot be provided.

A few little niggles which Mark sorted, items not available on arrival, dishwasher not working properly and although it says starter pack for log burner provided thus is not the case
Mark
The beds are very comfortable, and there is plenty of room for either a family of 4 or two couples. Showers work well, and having two en suites is great for two couples. Parking is easy, and Mark (the host) was helpful in letting us store our muddy bikes somewhere safe and out of the rain. Only slight annoyance was the rather loud dishwasher, but we just put it on while we were out, or overnight. Be delighted to visit again.
Nathan
Mark was also very helpful and polite to make our stay a breeze.
