This charming holiday cottage can be found on a working farm, just outside Holmfirth on the edge of the Peak District National Park. With stunning far reaching views it’s a perfect countryside retreat.. 3 steps to entrance.

Nestled in the picturesque village of Holme, in the stunning Holme Valley, these two charming holiday cottages offer the perfect escape to the countryside.
Set within a working sheep and beef farm, and accessed via a cobbled driveway, the cottages provide a tranquil base for exploring the northern tip of the Peak District National Park. The views over the valley are breathtaking, making them an ideal getaway for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts alike. Mount View Cottage sleeps up to six guests, while Trough Cottage accommodates up to five. Each cottage is self-contained and completely private. However, for larger groups, the cottages can be opened up on the ground floor to offer a combined capacity of eleven. Both cottages boast a comfortable, homely atmosphere, with some bedrooms benefiting from en-suite facilities and ground-floor toilets for added convenience. You’ll also find a range of games, cards, jigsaws, and books to keep everyone entertained. The patios are ideal for outdoor dining, soaking up the views, and relaxation. Practical features such as an electric car charging point and easy access to walking and cycling routes ensure a comfortable and convenient stay.
With the Pennine Way running through the moorland and iconic climbs such as Holme Moss, the area offers some of the finest walking and cycling country imaginable. The cottages are just three miles from Holmfirth, a delightful town known as the filming location of the beloved BBC series Last of the Summer Wine. The area boasts plenty of attractions, including the Holmfirth Vineyard and Picturedrome, as well as annual events like the Music Festival, Food and Drink Festival, and Tractor Rally. The surrounding area has also featured in several popular TV shows, including Where the Heart Is, as well as Gentleman Jack, Happy Valley, and Last Tango in Halifax in nearby Halifax.

What little GEM ! Viv is a fantastic host and her perfectly formed cottage - is like a tardis! (Mount View) - 3 beautifully appointed bedrooms up easy to negotiate stairs.. (2 double one twin) with bathroom - with the most wonderful views. with facilities downstairs a well equipped kitchen.. some might miss a dish washer.. but in my opinion, take the time to wash the dishes at the sink and take in some more of the view!! The living room space is hard to leave - comfy sofas with a view that will always win, over the telly! So many lovely details that sets this apart from others.The breathtaking road leading to the cottage, sets the pace for being perfectly positioned to go onwards to discover all that Derbyshire dales and the Peak district has to offer.. picturesque roads leading to welcoming pubs for lunch and delightful villages to explore. We were very sad to leave, but this will be one, that we will find good reason to come back to! Thank you Viv keep up the good work and see you again soon! much love Emma & Doreen
