About this property

Located in the heart of Lewes in Sussex, is this charming two-bedroom terraced house, Cliffe Cottage. Enjoying a superb location in the South Downs National Park, with easy access to the local amenities, and an interior with period features, Cliffe Cottage is a delightful pet-friendly dwelling for couples or a family of three. Step into the well-equipped kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine to prepare a meal to enjoy at the dining table over a bottle of wine If the weather is nice, make dinner an alfresco affair out on the rear enclosed patio, where your four-legged friend can stretch their legs too! After dinner, retire to the sitting room, where you can relax in front of a much-loved series on the TV, as the woodburning stove crackles nearby. Upstairs there are two well-presented bedrooms, a double and a single each with plenty of storage. In the morning, prepare for the day in the contemporary bathroom, featuring a bath for indulgent soaks and a shower over for quick freshen ups! Wander through the town, where just paces away, you will find a good selection of welcoming eateries, including The Snowdrop Inn and the original Bill's opposite Harvey's Brewery, perfect for those evenings when you don’t feel like cooking! History buffs have found their haven in this historic town, with the attractions of the remarkable 16th-century Lewes Castle & Museum, Lewes Priory, Southover Grange Gardens and the former home of Henry VIII’s fourth wife, Anne of Cleves. There is also the excellent 18-hole Lewes Golf Club which boasts picturesque views from its fairways. If you fancy a day of seaside fun, make the drive over to Brighton, where you can enjoy the amusements speckled along Brighton Palace Pier, tour the Brighton Museum & Art Gallery, or spend a day bathing on Brighton Beach, where you can also take part in a range of beach activities including volleyball, beach rugby and climbing. Those seeking wildlife-rich walks and impressive views can head further into the South Downs National Park, where you will find a wide variety of nature reserves, scenic hikes and the Lewes Brooks which is an SSSI managed by the RSPB. For more coastal fun, Eastbourne with its miniature steam railway and beautiful beach plus its art gallery, theatre and concert hall, along with Hastings and its bustling pier and historic castle await. All this and more is on offer with a stay at Cliffe Cottage.

Between Offham and Beddingham, the East Sussex county town of Lewes is a lovely place to live.

Many of the town's historic buildings, such as Lewes Castle & Museum, Anne of Cleves House, and Southover Grange; and the Lewes Golf Club overlooking River Ouse, are well-known tourist attractions in the town, which has a rich history.

At the nearby supermarket, you'll be able to fill up on necessities like milk and bread, as well as have a meal at The Snowdrop Inn or Fuego Lounge.

If you're looking for more things to do and see, Brighton is just a short drive away and offers a variety of attractions and amenities. Among these are the Brighton Palace Pier and Brighton Museum & Art Gallery.

Lewes is a fine town with many excellent places to eat and drink and also has very good public transport links (bus & train) to nearby places of business interest.

A cosy 2-bed that was perfect for a couple, or would suit a family with a small child. Perfectly located to explore Lewes, in a quiet street within walking distance of the main shops and restaurants. The log burner kept the lounge warm on winter evenings! We had a lovely time.

Beautifully located right round the corner to Lewes precinct, with loads of restaurants, unique shops and wonderful open spaces for dog walks. Brilliant. Easy to get to Brighton.
