Our third stay at the Quarter House -definitely not our last! A beautiful, historic property in the middle of the citadel - a well equipped and relaxing space - the perfect base for exploring all that Rye and the local area has to offer.

The accommodation is sadly in need of attention, overall it is shabby and grubby.The soft furnishings and bedding need to be renewed. Worst for me were the towels which were non absorbent and smelt unpleasantly musty.The shower was difficult to use and there was no shower curtain. The bathroom blind was ill fitting, dirty and cumbersome to use.We were surprised to be asked to put household rubbish in bins in the street, which I believe is illegal. We were given instructions to take recycling to a recycling centre which in fact no longer exists or to take it home with us!The position and quaintness of the accommodation go some way to mitigate the above comments and I appreciate that pets are welcome which may somwhat excuse the general shabby and grubby appearance. However, the accommodation still falls below what I would expect of a holiday home.
