Guests say

The Shepherd's Hut in Hailsham offers a tranquil and private retreat, praised for its cleanliness, well-equipped kitchen, and cosy atmosphere. Guests appreciate the pet-friendly environment, the welcoming hosts, and the peaceful surroundings ideal for relaxation. The property's charm is enhanced by the presence of wildlife and the opportunity for countryside walks.

Guests consistently mention the hut's cleanliness, describing it as 'very clean and tidy'. The attention to cleanliness contributes significantly to the positive experience.

The location is appreciated for its peace and quiet, with mentions of enjoyable local walks and proximity to Herstmonceux. However, some guests note the need for a car to reach places of interest, slightly affecting the score.

The comfort of the Shepherd's Hut is highlighted by reviews, with guests finding the bed very comfy and the hut cosy, especially with the potential use of a log burner.

Facilities are well-regarded, with the hut being described as well-equipped, particularly the kitchen. The mention of a welcome pack suggests good maintenance, though a comment about the lack of a floor mop after a storm indicates a minor issue.

While the reviews reflect positively on the hosts' friendliness and helpfulness, there is no specific mention of gifts, so it is not possible to assess the thoughtfulness in terms of gifts, and the score is set to null.

The shepherd's hut was in a field surrounded by large trees with one other hut the other side of the field so very private and quiet. Inside, the hut had enough space to allow us to put in our dog's large cage which he normally sleeps in, a concern before we left. It had a vey comfy bed and extremely well equipped kitchen and shower room. The log burner, although not used by us, would make the hut very cosy for a holiday later in the year. Outside the hut was a verandah with a gate, allowing us to keep the dog off the lead as well as being able to exercise him off the lead in the field making it an easy holiday with a dog. In Herstmonceux there is an excellent coffee shop providing coffee, cakes and lunches which was an easy walk across the fields from the hut. An excellent, relaxing holiday for all!
