Guests consistently praise the cleanliness, comfort, and well-equipped nature of the hut, as well as the friendly and helpful hosts. The location is ideal for dog owners and walkers, with easy access to local amenities and scenic walks. While the presence of a second hut in the field is occasionally noted, it does not detract from the overall tranquil experience. The property is highly recommended for a restful getaway.

Cleanliness is frequently highlighted, with guests describing the hut as 'super clean', 'very clean', and 'tidy'. Only one minor mention of muddy floors due to weather, but this did not impact overall satisfaction.

The location is widely praised for its peaceful, rural setting, beautiful views, and proximity to local walks and villages. A few guests mention the field can be muddy in winter, and one found it a little tricky to find, but overall feedback is extremely positive.

Guests consistently describe the hut as cosy, warm, and comfortable, with a particularly comfortable bed and effective heating. The compact size is noted but does not detract from comfort, even in winter.

The hut is described as very well equipped, with modern amenities including a kitchen, shower, washer/dryer, and even a dishwasher. Facilities exceed expectations for this type of accommodation.

Hosts are repeatedly described as friendly, welcoming, and proactive, offering helpful local advice and quick responses to issues. Some guests mention a welcome pack, but please note that such gifts are not guaranteed.

Herstmonceux is not only home to the hands-on Observatory Science Centre housed amongst the domes and telescopes of the former Royal Greenwich Observatory but there is also the magnificent Herstmonceux Castle with its Elizabethan gardens to wander around. The town also produces Henner’s medal-winning sparkling wine, and because Sussex has a sunny climate and chalky subsoil (the same as that in Champagne in France), the county also produces wonderful sparkling wines. To access your nearest beach, take a short car journey to Pevensey where the Romans landed, and you can tackle the beautiful 31-mile 1066 Country Walk which starts at Pevensey via Herstmonceux, and on to Battle and then the Cinque Port town of Rye. Golf and fishing lakes are close by. For a spot of sightseeing, you can take the train to London from Polegate. Beach 8 miles. Shop, pub, and restaurant 1¼ miles.

Very compact but ‘cosy’ and well equipped. Ideal location for many historical sites, a visit to Battle Abbey is highly recommended. Friendly and helpful host.

Beautiful shepherd's hut in a large field, so peaceful and beautiful. Hut had everything you need (and more! Never stayed anywhere with a washing machine before!). Was a little tricky to find whilst navigating solo - I think having a What3Words reference would have helped. Hosts were lovely, allowed us use of an empty field for me and my visiting family to allow the dogs some offlead time in the shade. Would definitely recommend and would stay again, thank you!

We stayed in the Shepherds Hut for one week and loved everything about our stay! The hut is located on in a very private area, surrounded by beautiful nature and not too far from a little village, so its perfect if youre looking for an escape from the city. It looked just like on the pictures, was super clean and had everything you need to feel at home and more! We had some isues with the WiFi when we arrived and the owner, Nick, was very quick to help and very friendly. Would definitely come back!
