The Vineyard Shepherds Hut is a lovely property set amongst 80 acres of vines, woodland, farmland and fishing lake. Plus, it has a family of peacocks, rare breed chickens and sheep. This is the perfect romantic retreat for those looking to escape to the country.
The property comprises a lovely double bed, full kitchen with fridge, hob and microwave oven, a shower and toilet plus a wood burner for those cosy nights in. Plus, you can enjoy the wood burning hot tub and watch the sunset over the rolling countryside, and your own decked seating area to relax in. Hartley Mauditt enjoys exceptionally beautiful surroundings and outstanding walks, and is considered a natural playground for ramblers, cyclists and nature enthusiasts alike.
Whilst in this idyllic countryside location, Hartley Vineyard Estate is close to excellent shops, restaurants and major transport links. The thriving market town of Alton just 2.6 miles away with a delightful mix of historic buildings, modern shops and well known for its weekly markets. The village of Chawton, famously the home of Jane Austen is nearby. The Watercress Line steam railway goes from Alton, trundling through pleasant countryside through the village of Ropley and on to Alresford. Nearby in sleepy Selborne you can walk up the famous zig-zag pathway, enjoy the views and explore the hangers, or visit Gilbert White’s House and The Oates Collection. This hidden gem was home to naturalist Gilbert White, author of `The Natural History of Selborne’ and boasts a wonderful 20 acre garden.
You can also enjoy a walk through the Lavender Fields at Hartley Park Farm, explore Alice Holt Forest or slightly further afield Goodwood House and Racecourse in Chichester, Petersfield Heath with boating lake, ducks, playground and café, Petworth Park, in Petworth and Marwell Zoo in Winchester.
