It is surrounded by woodland, countryside and wildlife, making it the perfect place to stay when looking for rest and relaxation, or a romantic retreat in nature.The two sets of French doors allow light to flood into this spacious lodge and space is not the only surprise in store for guests! This lovely charming cottage boasts its own private sauna next to the shower room, so relax in the warmth on winter afternoons.
The cottage has a separate cosy wooden clad double bedroom with vanity unit. The open plan living area offers a extra double bed accessed by ladder. The kitchen area is fully equipped to make lovely dinners to be enjoyed at the dining table next to the french windows.
Plenty of comfortable seating to chill out and relax.
Step outside and enjoy morning coffee on the private decked area.

Linchmere is a small village in the Surrey Hills, close to the interesting towns of Haslemere and Petworth. The village is in an Area or Outstanding Natural Beauty, and is ideally placed for walks and cycle rides. Chichester, Arundel and even London or the coast are within reach of Linchmere, making it an ideal destination.

However,for the sake of future guests I feel that I must expand on this as follows; on arrival our Spaniel was overly interested in the sofa in the bedroom it transpired that amongst the myriad of cobwebs was a recently expired mouse. Furthermore on retiring for the night we were horrified to find that the bedsheet was blood stained. Finally I would seriously advise should you wish to stay at this poolside shed in Autumn then arm yourself with ear defenders due to the constant noise coming from the acorns hammering on the roof, akin to trying to sleep inside a drum. I hope that these reflections are helpful to the owners so they can take on board and expand their business.

Walking and carrying luggage across the paddock to reach the lodge was a bit of a challenge after heavy rain, but it wasn't too far. We were disappointed that, although the listing stated there was a Sky box, it did not provide a login, resulting in a very limited range of channels. The lodge was dog-friendly with some outside space for our two to explore. We did find that visitors to the stables attached to the property let their dogs off the lead and they chased ours, which was not ideal. The lodge was in a good location with easy access to the surrounding towns and attractions. The Weald and Downland Museum was excellent and dog-friendly. The downside we found was that most of the other museums and attractions did not accept dogs, which was a shame. We visited Petworth House and enjoyed the gardens and tag-teamed while we each visited the house itself, a must-do to see all the wonderful artworks.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and exploring the immediate area which has much to offer. We were glad to meet Melanie and Daniel and very much look forward to returning later in the year' (Philip/Charles)
