Guests say

Jasmine Cottage offers a cosy stay with a secure garden, ideal for dog owners. Its proximity to beautiful walks and the town of Lyndhurst is highly appreciated. While some guests noted areas for improvement, the property's charm and location are consistently praised.

Several reviews mention issues with cleanliness, including cobwebs, dust, and dead woodlice. However, the property was described as clean by one reviewer, indicating inconsistency in this area.

The location is frequently highlighted as a positive feature, with easy access to countryside walks, pony watching, and the village centre. On-street parking is generally not problematic.

Comfort receives mixed reviews. Guests appreciate the cozy lounge and soft towels, but some found the mattresses too soft and the lack of rugs on floorboards less comfortable.

Facilities are adequate with a well-sized kitchen and good shower, but maintenance issues like broken chairs, missing mirrors, and lack of a washing machine are noted. The garden also requires attention.

There is no mention of gifts or additional thoughtful touches provided by the host, so it is not possible to assess this category.

We’ve had a lovely week here at the cottage (mid terrace house). Really easy to find, just follow your satnav. Although it doesn’t have a dedicated place to park, we never found parking an issue and most of the time were able to park right outside or at most a couple of houses down. Fairly quiet although you can hear some road noise from the main road but it really didn’t affect our stay. Key is in key safe and there’s a fenced area to the front of the property which should stop dogs racing out onto the road. The lounge faces the quiet road and has a snug cozy feel. Plenty of light during the day coming in from the large windows. Log burner. Two seater sofa and a Sherlock chair. Mirror over the mantle and a couple of games and books to enjoy. Small lamp if you didn’t want it too bright in the evening. No terrestrial TV, so make sure you have your app passwords and you can get everything through the Roku set up if that’s important to you. Nice size kitchen with table and four chairs. Electric oven gas hob, small dishwasher, microwave, toaster, kettle and fridge. There is no freezer or freezer section in the fridge. Plenty of cleaning supplies available, including dishwasher tablets and washing up liquid along with washing up sponge and brush, tea towels provided. Plenty of cupboard space. The bathroom is downstairs and has a shower with a rain shower option over a bath along with the toilet and wash basin. There is a heated towel rail, although I couldn’t work out how to get it to heat. There is also a mirror against the wall by the wash basin! Supplied hand soap and a couple of toilet rolls. The best bit they also provide full size bath towels and hand towels which were really lovely and soft. Up the narrow and slightly steep staircase are the two bedrooms. The twin bedroom is at the front of the house and has a full size mirror, chest of drawers and bedside tables. The beds have medium firm mattresses. The double bedroom overlooks the garden and has a built-in wardrobe and bedside tables. The bed (pretty sure it’s a double not king as advertised) has a very soft mattress which was the only negative for us and we ended up moving into the twin bedroom! I’d also recommend bringing your own pillows if you like anything more than a very soft pillow, for both rooms. Floorboards upstairs, bring slippers! Could do with a couple of rugs up there maybe but that didn’t spoil the enjoyment of our stay. The garden is long and narrow, we stayed in October so didn’t use it much. Pebble out of the back door onto a lawn area with borders. We found this property to be clean and cosy, yes there’s the odd cobweb but I didn’t see a single spider the whole time I was there!! If you wanted completely pristine maybe not for you but otherwise perfect location and great for us with a dog as has a secure garden. If your dog is particularly noise sensitive you can hear the neighbours coming and going (and they seemed to do that a lot but not late into the night, just busy people coming and going but may make a noise sensitive dog stressed). So many beautiful walks and routes to explore right across the road but other lovely places just a short drive away. Really happy with our stay and would absolutely recommend this property. Suitable for a couple or a small family. Great for dogs.

Location was great for us, a short walk from the village centre and close to open land for dog walks and pony watching. On street parking a bonus and easy to park near cottage.Cottage is pretty, garden good and secure. It’s comfortable but could be really lovely with attention to detail and could benefit from a few snagging issues being resolved (mirror not on wall in bathroom, fitting down in front room for curtains, some stains on lounge curtains etc) and a good dusting over as there were cobwebs pretty much everywhere and an abundance of dead woodlice in the lounge. This didn’t affect the quality of our break but if we were staying longer or weren’t out and about so much, I think it would have
