With large gardens to enjoy, you really will be able to unwind here. The cottage has been decorated and furnished beautifully, and you will find this to be very comfortable. You will be greeted with a welcome pack, which the host will send you a request before your arrival.
Picturesque Winkle Street in Calbourne was originally known as Barrington Row, and it was named after the Barrington family who owned the estate when the first cottages were built in the 1750’s. You will almost certainly be visited by families of ducks that will be eager to be fed.
Calbourne offers good accessibility by bicycle to the Military Road which is a cyclist’s paradise. There is secure bike storage should you require it. Head on to the west coast of the Isle of Wight where you will find the ancient town of Yarmouth with its plentiful restaurants, shops and bars.
Further west you will find the most beautiful beaches, along with the iconic, famous landmark attraction, The Needles, which has so much more to enjoy than the stunning views - it is a destination not to be missed. The range of attractions includes the spectacular chairlift ride, taking you on a journey past the coloured sands cliffs of Alum Bay to the beach. Soak up the breathtakingly beautiful views from the beach and enjoy a paddle in the sea. Or get closer to The Needles by taking a pleasure cruise - the sunsets are incredible here.The hosts have access to great ferry discounts as a member of trade association, they will be able to help when you book this accommodation.

Very beautiful cottage in a stunning location.It’s said to be the most picturesque street on the island and you can see why.Parking was a little tricky getting in and out of the driveway, but well worth it.Cottage was clean and had everything we needed and more. There was plenty of head room for me, even being 6ft tall. Which was a concern for me being tall in a cottage.Garden was a little overgrown with uneven steps, but had loads of wildlife and birds, birds and plenty of sunshine.There is plenty to see and do in the surrounding area with out having to drive on narrow lanes.Owner John is amazing, accommodating for our requests with the property and booking the ferry, even changing the return ferry at a late request for us.I would highly recommend this property to use as a base for seeing the island and to have a nice relaxing stay in a very comfortable and beautiful cottage.

We were visiting a favourite childhood haunt 60 years on, for our mum's 90th birthday celebrations. The cottage is located perfectly on Barrington Row, Winkle Street, Calbourne, and has a lovely calmness to it. The perfect combination of pared back decor, beautiful linens, and gadgets galore -both modern and traditional - from the helpful motion sensor lights, to the heartwarming wood burning stove, to Alexa and the infamous monkey lamp - which I have also spotted in the two other properties available for rental - obviously a playful theme and talking point! The garden too is impressive, offering a blend of traditional planting and a very cool deck, which we enjoyed in the evenings. We have already booked again for next year. Really says it all!
