This charming, detached cottage is perfect for a family holiday on the Isle of Wight and is able to accommodate up to four guests and the family pets. Little Dover Cottage has some wonderful character features inside including a beautiful, exposed stone wall which runs the length of the living/dining space. The vaulted ceiling in the upstairs bedrooms provides a lovely, light and spacious feel.
Wi-Fi enabled and well-equipped, this holiday home is located in the popular seaside town of Ryde with its host of shops, bars, restaurants and cafés. The stretches of sand at Ryde offer fantastic views across the Solent to Portsmouth, with the landmark Spinnaker Tower forming an impressive backdrop to a busy shipping channel which carries an interesting array of freight, passenger and military ships. Along the nearby promenade, moments from the property, you will find tennis courts, ten-pin bowling, a fun fair, canoe lake and a swimming pool, providing plenty to do within the local area. You can also enjoy scenic coastal walks, go crabbing, sailing, fishing, horse riding, golf or even go-karting, all of which are easily accessible from the cottage.

Visit Queen Victoria’s favourite holiday residence, Osborne House and its gardens, Blackgang Chine, the oldest themed attraction in the UK, Ventnor Botanic Garden, Tapnell Farm Park, Carisbrooke Castle, the sailing towns of Yarmouth and Cowes, and Shanklin Chine, a beautiful, deep wooded gorge with waterfalls and paths leading to Shanklin beach. Great cottage close to amenities close to bus and train station to go anywhere on the island good communication with owner and good information folder availableCottage was well equipped good off road parking facilities and our family all had a great time and would highly recommend

The cottage is a great location for walking to Ryde beach. The cottage is comfy and clean. Very nice kitchen, bathroom and bedrooms. As other reviewers have mentioned it's really is in need of a washing machine rather than the dishwasher. The nearest laundrette is just a 4 minute walk so easy to get. Unfortunately we found on both occasions not all the machines were function and we didn't find that until it had taken out money.The driveway to the house is very narrow and made a bit more tricky getting out of as the pavement dips at a dramatic angle so it takes a bit of getting use to and a little bit of bravery. The property is surrounded by a number of flats and other properties which means there's a bit less privacy but for the most part this wasn't an issue and there was only one night where things were a bit noisy.While we didn't have the best of weather for our stay on the Isle of Wight it was great that the cottage had good broadband, Sky and Netflix so it very much felt like a home from home in the evening.
