Longford Cottage has been newly refurbished for 2023, and has been beautifully furnished; this cottage is a great choice for a holiday on the Isle of Wight. There are two double bedrooms, one of which is located on the ground floor, and a further snug with a chair bed and the best view. A beautiful kitchen with patio doors leading out to the garden, a charming living room, and a storage area for boot, coats, bicycles or kayaks and this room completes the ground floor. The absolute show stopper at Longford Cottage is the bathroom which definitely has the wow factor! There is a lovely garden with a stunning rural view. Sonos speakers have been installed throughout this beautiful cottage, so you can have music wherever you go.
Havenstreet is a delightful village approximately 2 miles from the seaside resort of Ryde. Havenstreet is home to the award-winning attraction which is the Isle of Wight steam railway. The village also has a great pub which also serves delicious food. There are many cycle trails from the village which will take you through beautiful rolling scenery. The “Island” as locals refer to it, has so much to offer such as The Needles, with its chairlift, amusement park, boat rides, lighthouse and coloured sands of Alum Bay. Blackgang Chine, Dinosaur Isle, Ventnor Botanical Gardens, Tapnell Farm Park, Carisbrooke Castle and Queen Victoria’s favourite holiday residence, Osborne House and its gardens are some of the attractions on offer. The sailing towns of Yarmouth and Cowes also make for a great day out, so whatever you decide, the Isle of Wight has plenty to offer. Beach 4 miles.

Lovely cottage with everything needed to enjoy our break. Within easy reach of local sightseeing destinations. Would definitely recommend visiting it again.

Very disappointed with Longford Cottage, advertised as luxury and it was by no means luxury, no welcome pack on arrival. Endless housekeeping issues, very dusty, dirt behind furniture was unbelievable, cobwebs hanging from ceilings, hairs around the toilet base, windows has greasy marks up them, hairs in kitchen drawers, toilet seat broken, cooker requires a deep clean, I could go but there is so much to mention. Owner contacted on arrival as issue were so obvious they couldn’t be ignored. Owner emailed to inform the company responsible for the maintenance on the property would contact me, of which they did the following morning. Arrangements made for the cleaning company to visit the following day,, a substantial amount of issues addressed but not all, I believe they wouldn’t have had time to deal with all problems in the time they had as there was that many.. Driveway very small, only really big enough for one small car, we had to park our car on an angle & even then the car hung over into the road. The road the cottage is on can get busy at peak times. Overall location for East Wight is good as not too far to travel to surrounding areas. Plus side the bedding was clean & there are large TV’s in lounge & both bedrooms, other than that I have no positives, unfortunately this property is lacking in so many areas. The island as always was a pleasure to visit but unfortunately Longford Cottage did take away from that somewhat as we felt that we could not relax when we returned at the end of the day.
