No smoking.. The Farriers, a former farm building, is situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The cottage offers cosy and comfortable accommodation alongside The Dairy (ref UK39385). The Farriers is full of character boasting beautiful hand made features and tasteful décor throughout. On entering the property to your right along the corridor you’ll find the well-equipped kitchen, living and dining area. This space is the perfect communal area in which to unwind after a busy day exploring everything the island has to offer. The French doors lead you out to a private spacious garden that overlooks the farms fields, it’s a view not be missed! The Farriers has one shower room with a walk-in shower, a sink with a handmade vanity unit for storage and a heated towel rail. The master bedroom sleeps two guests in a kingsize bed and has plenty of storage in a large wardrobe and chest of drawers. The second bedroom sleeps an additional guests with a full size single bed. The room has plenty of storage in a large wardrobe with two drawers underneath.
The location is perfect for cyclists, walkers, ramblers, runners and families and there is private access onto the old railway line from the farm. The track is part of the Red Squirrel Trail, a 32-mile trail around the island countryside. As well as this the old railway line has many footpaths and bridleways branching off it taking you on miles of off road routes. You really can get the best of both worlds here with the beach just a 5-minute drive away if you fancy a change of scenery. The farm is also on a bus route for guests staying without a car meaning you don’t miss out on a thing!

Absolutely fantastic stay. The property was fantastic for our two sausage dogs having an enclosed garden. The farriers was decorated beautifully. There is an EV charger on the farm which you can use and works out cheaper than charging out and about. There also is a washing machine and a tumble drier on site. The farm leads onto the old railway line from Shankling to Ventnor, which was great for walking the dogs, riding bikes or running. Abbie the owner was so helpful and friendly. We will definitely book in the future

We absolutely love comming to the Farriers as it suits our needs. The location is perfect if you like countryside and walks, peace and quiet. The cottage is comfortable, nicely furnished and provides all the basics for enjoyable stay. The bus stop is near by but would recommend it for someone with a car as you really need to drive to the shops, beach, etc. The owner is easy to contact and always there if you need anything. The garden is secured and safe for children or dogs.

A lovely spot! The cottage was everything we could have hoped for - and Abbie was the perfect host. It was clean, well equipped and so peaceful and quiet, and lovely for dog walking. Would definitely recommend.
