The attractive seaside town of Yarmouth is the oldest town on the Isle of Wight, and its busy harbour is a haven for all kinds of watercraft, with the terminal used for regular mainland ferry crossings. Yarmouth's narrow streets are home to an array of shops and inns, whilst a visit to Henry viii's castle is not to be missed. There's great cycling and walking to be had along the coastal path, or why not take an energetic stroll across to the nearby Tennyson Down? Sandhard beach is 15 minutes' walk away, and is ideal for swimming and crabbing from the jetty. 4 miles away is Compton beach, famous for dinosaur remains; go there at low tide and see if you can find the two enormous three-toed feet. West Wight is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Yarmouth is an ideal base from which to explore this wonderful island.

Only issue we had was with mosquitoes, which we weren't prepared for. Property itself was nice although could do with bit of refresh decorating. TV signal intermittent. That said we will be back next year armed with insect repellent & mozzie nets!

Great location right by the shore with lovely views. Good access to walks for the dog, and near a bus route. 1 or 2 small things not in place as advertised, but after a quick chat with the owner, he rectified everything, thank you very much! TV signal not 100% reliable on some stations, and wifi a bit slow. Cafe next door very friendly, especially to dogs, who appreciated the sausages! Overall however, we are definitely thinking of booking again.
