Guests say

Rose Cottage is a charming, cosy retreat in Hythe, ideal for couples and dog owners seeking a peaceful getaway with easy access to the town, seafront, and scenic walks. Guests appreciate its character, well-equipped kitchen, and thoughtful touches from the host. The location is excellent for exploring local attractions. While the cottage's steep stairs and lack of a shower may not suit everyone, most visitors enjoy its comfort and welcoming atmosphere, returning for repeat stays. Some mention that décor and kitchenware could benefit from updating, but overall, the cottage offers a delightful base for a Kentish holiday.

Most guests found the cottage clean and tidy on arrival, with several repeat visitors praising its upkeep. However, a few reviews mention issues such as stained bedding, dog hair, and areas needing a deeper clean, indicating some inconsistency.

The location is highly praised, with easy access to Hythe High Street, the seafront, and local walks. Guests love the proximity to shops, cafes, and attractions, though some note the steep hill leading to the cottage.

Guests generally find the cottage cosy and comfortable, especially for couples. The log burner and heaters are appreciated. However, steep stairs, small rooms, and the absence of a shower are noted as drawbacks, particularly for those with mobility issues.

The cottage is well-equipped for short stays, with a functional kitchen and off-road parking. Some guests mention the need for updated kitchenware, lack of a shower, and occasional maintenance issues, but overall facilities meet most holiday needs.

Many guests mention thoughtful touches such as welcome gifts (wine, biscuits, tea, coffee, and milk), though these are not guaranteed. The host is frequently described as helpful and attentive, enhancing the overall experience.

A quaint, neat cottage located in an ideal spot for exploring Hythe and the local area. Beautiful walk to the seafront, excellent bus links (we enjoyed a trip to Canterbury, with the bus stop right outside the door). Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Perfect location to shops and beach. Shame killer hill but good to get blood pumping and had read reviews so knew to expect it. Parking easy, excellent to have milk, tea and coffee on arrival. Couldn't resist the choc biscuits but left the wine! Forgot to pack playing cards and as so hot we stayed inside middle of the day but snakes n ladders n dvds available.I lovely little break can thoroughly recommend eating at The Bell. the kings head and truly scrumptious!
