The wide sandy and secluded beach at Minnis Bay is nearby, leading to the bustling village of Birchington-on-Sea (1 mile) which has a choice of great places to eat and drink, alongside a lovely promenade and the Powell-Cotton Museum situated within the impressive Quex House and Gardens. For cyclists, the Viking Coastal Trail leads along to Margate and Broadstairs, with landmarks including Turner Contemporary, Dreamland Margate and the Dickens House Museum, all within 9 miles. Heading west, highlights include Reculver Beach, Herne Bay and the characterful resort of Whitstable, all within 17 miles.
