Set high on the hillside, it’s a fantastic spot for a walk, a picnic, and sweeping views across the landscape. For keen walkers, The Ridgeway (14 miles) offers miles of scenic trails through rolling landscapes and ancient routes. If you fancy learning more about the local area, the Vale and Downland Museum (9 miles) is a great place to discover the history and heritage of the surrounding towns and countryside. For a memorable day out, head to Highclere Castle (20 miles), instantly recognisable as the filming location for the beloved TV series Downton Abbey.
Inside, the heart of the home is the farmhouse kitchen and dining area, where cooking together becomes part of the occasion. Stock up on fresh produce from nearby farm shops, then gather around the large wooden dining table with seating for 12 guests. The main living space is designed for spending time together, with plenty of comfortable seating, a wood burner for cosy evenings during the colder months, and a Smart TV for film nights. A selection of board games and books adds to the home-from-home feel when the pace slows down. Bedrooms are light and airy, dressed in soft neutral shades with crisp white linens. Sleeping arrangements include four doubles, plus a family room with a double bed, single bed and an additional stacking single available on request. Fast Wi-Fi runs throughout the house, and each bedroom has its own desk for anyone needing to catch up on work. One of the double bedrooms benefits from an en-suite shower room, while two gleaming shower rooms serve the remaining rooms. A handy cloakroom completes the interior.
