Guests say

Guests consistently praise 'Harry', a cottage in Cornwall, for its cleanliness, peaceful location, and comfort. The property has seen improvements, and the caretaker, Clare, is frequently mentioned for her helpfulness. The grounds are appreciated for their beauty and safety, and the local village of Blisland adds charm with its amenities. Some guests suggest minor enhancements, but overall experiences are very positive, with many expressing a desire to return.

Reviewers regularly highlight the cleanliness of the cottage, describing it as 'very clean and comfortable'. There are no negative comments regarding cleanliness, indicating high standards are maintained.

The location is celebrated for its tranquillity and central position for exploring Cornwall. The proximity to both coasts and local amenities like the village pub and shop are appreciated, though some mention the narrow lanes as challenging.

Comfort is frequently commended, with guests finding the cottage cosy and the grounds relaxing. However, there are a few remarks about the sofas being low, which could affect the comfort level for some guests.

Facilities are generally well-received, with positive mentions of the property's improvements and maintenance. Some guests suggest the addition of trays and comment on the extractor fans and crockery, indicating room for minor improvements.

While guests mention receiving a warm welcome and helpful interactions with the caretaker, there is only one mention of a welcome gift (scones with jam and clotted cream). As this is not a consistent theme in the reviews, it is not possible to score thoughtfulness based on gifts, and thus the score is set to null.

About this property

Picturesque cottage in the grounds of an ancient Cornish manor house, set in a peaceful valley with spectacular mature trees, just outside Blisland village with its famous real-ale pub and Grade-1 listed church. Harry is the biggest cottage on the end of the converted barn. Huge open-plan living space with wooden beams, vast fireplace with wood burner (free logs), a comfy kitchen/dining area at one end and a lovely seating area at the other, with charming countryside views and piano. Head downstairs to bed in three comfortable bedrooms. This is a beautiful and relaxing place. Note: This property can be booked with Dick and Tom, together they sleep 15.

Situated under the western edge of granite-bound Bodmin Moor, the village of Blisland retains its age old character and is the only village in Cornwall to have a village green with trees. Around the green, cluster old houses and cottages, as well as the famous, award-winning Blisland Inn.

Excellent walks from the door. Very comfortable. Helpful housekeeper. Takes a while to heat up as roomy and high ceilings.

The sofas are too old and so low, with my bad back and my wife’s bad knee, once in, we needed our son to pull us up! Your caretakers are lovely and so helpful. I would stay here again, especially as my brother in law and sister in law moved to Blisland 2 weeks ago.

We loved it. A special delight was being able to explore the grounds of the Manor House. We also loved the piano, which was in tune and had a nice tone.
