Guests say

The Mill House-TT3 is a well-equipped cottage offering a spacious kitchen, cosy bedrooms, and a fun games room. Set in a rural Cornish location, it provides a good base for exploring. Guests appreciated the thoughtful touch of scones and jam on arrival, though some mentioned minor issues with noise and maintenance.

There is no specific mention of cleanliness in the reviews, so it is not possible to provide a score for this category.

The property's rural setting is appreciated for its charm and central location in Cornwall, ideal for exploring the region. The narrow access roads and remoteness are noted, adding to the property's character.

Guests found the bedrooms cosy and comfortable, and the property met all their needs. However, some guests noted the spiral staircase can be a bit tight and the lounge a little dark.

The property is praised for its well-equipped kitchen and games room. However, points are deducted for the noise from the heat pump and extractor fans, and the expectation for guests to manage bins and bed stripping.

Guests were delighted by the scones, cream, and jam provided, which added a welcoming touch. It should be noted that such gifts, while appreciated, are not guaranteed for every stay.

Stayed here for a week in the October half term. Delicious scones, cream and jam were in the fridge waiting for us plus a carton of milk which was very handy! Lovely property. Loved the kitchen. It was so big!! Very well equipped ~ it had everything you need. Plenty of space for food as there were 3 fridges with small freezer space in 2 of them. The property had a spiral staircase which was very nice. It was a bit tight but not a problem for us. Bedrooms were cosy and comfortable. We didn’t use them all as there was 4 of us.We had a lot of fun in the games room which was also very well equipped. Pool table, football table, other games and also had a large TV in there. Note that the games room is shared with the other property and is in a separate building in the grounds. Nice outside space too but it rained while we were there most days so wasn’t able to sit out and enjoy the views. A good base for getting around. Not far from the A30 and the A38. The Wi-Fi was a bit sketchy but you are in the countryside! All in all we had a wonderful time - highly recommend this property.

Before you read on know that we had a fantastic time here. The owners were good communicators and the scones and homemade jam were a lovely touch. It had all we needed - the games room was amazing, and although we didn’t use it, use of a BBQ is always welcome in my eyes -there’s plenty to enjoy about the accommodation. The remaining things I’m commenting on are simply things that people should know before booking. It’s on a farm which we loved - so expect animal noises, farm traffic and loads of flies. Please get a fly swat though! It’s isolated. Which we also loved, but be ready to drive down some really narrow roads, and the terrain is super hilly. It adds to the charm but you have to be comfortable driving up and down valleys. There was only space for one car per cottage, so could be a factor with multiple cars I guess. We came in one vehicle, so fine for us. The heat pump / water cylinder is a bit noisy and the alarm on the pump went off a lot. There were reset instructions but not really something I want to attend to in the middle of the night. As are the extractor fans. If you are bringing family members that get up in the night (we had two kids and two older members) then be ok with the extractor fans of the bathrooms humming away for a while. I’m not sure how I feel about having to be the one in charge of putting the bins out when I’m on my own holiday or stripping the beds. We paid a lot for this place and I think it’s a little too much to expect of guests - I’d rethink that one if I were the owners as it could put off potential clients. We of course obliged, but it still tainted the charm of being on holiday. If that’s common across cottages then happy to accept that’s how things are done. Be ready for a 9am check out (which we felt is a bit early too), bit if a rush on the last day. Overall, it was really comfortable and location was just what we looked for in getting the most out of Cornwall’s beaches (south and north), towns and heritage.
