The Studio in Rinsey, Cornwall, is a well-regarded cottage praised for its tasteful conversion, cleanliness, and excellent location right on the coastal path. Guests appreciate the underfloor heating, private garden, and proximity to nature. While some minor issues with facilities and maintenance are noted, the overall sentiment is positive, with many guests enjoying their stay and the thoughtful touches provided.
Most guests found The Studio to be clean and well-prepped for their arrival, with only a few noting dust and cobwebs. The property generally meets high cleanliness standards.
The location is highly praised for its stunning coastal scenery, easy access to walks, and peaceful setting. The views and proximity to nature are significant highlights for guests.
Comfort is well-received with mentions of a good standard of beds and underfloor heating. However, some guests suggest improvements in seating comfort and the firmness of the main bedroom's bed.
Facilities are generally appreciated, especially the well-equipped kitchen. Criticisms include the need for better garden furniture, a larger TV, and issues with the wood burner. The challenging driveway access is also noted.
Guests mention thoughtful touches like welcome goodies, spare loo rolls, and efficient assistance from the rental agency. However, it's politely noted that such gifts, while appreciated, are not guaranteed with every stay.
Tucked away next to the Coast Path leading down to Rinsey Cove and mine, is The Studio, a detached cottage with fantastic far-reaching views over Mount’s Bay and west Cornwall. Previously used as an art studio by a renowned artist, it has been beautifully restored and renovated. Enter through large private gates, cross a sweeping courtyard and head into the big kitchen/dining room with tiled floor and French windows overlooking the terrace and garden. Three steps lead down to the stylish sitting room which has a wooden floor and large granite inglenook with a wood burning stove. Also on this level is a pretty twin bedroom (zip-linkable to 6' double) and shower-room.
Open tread pine stairs take you to the first floor and a double bedroom with en suite shower-room and views out to sea and across the countryside. Outside, the garden is private, peaceful and relaxing with a stone terrace with table and chairs, lawn, shrubs and trees (there is a raised area within the garden) Just a few yards from the Coast Path, The Studio has fantastic walking from the front door. The hamlet of Rinsey comprises mostly granite cottages, a cliff-top engine house standing sentinel to its tin mining history and is a short walk from its own little cove, which is owned by the National Trust.
Nearby Praa Sands is one of Cornwall's finest sandy beaches and the village of Porthleven is a real foodie destination, with interesting shops, cafes and restaurants sitting around its pretty harbour.
The village of Praa Sands sits on the south coast in between Helston and Marazion. Praa Sands is known for its mile-long sandy beach and excellent surfing conditions. There is a bar/restaurant overlooking the beach – the perfect spot for lunch with a view or sunset drinks – a Post Office and general stores, beach cafe with fish & chips, and a beach/surf shop stocked with everything you could need for a great day at the beach

One of the best cottages Iâve stayed in. Everything was first class. If you like peace and quiet and being away from it all youâll go a long way to find a better place.

The property was excellent.

Fantastic location cottage well equipped beds very comfy. Cottage well laid out with fabulous views and access to coastal path. The only couple of things we would suggest is that the loving room seating could do with replacing and putting some wire/mesh on both gates would be a good idea for people bringing dogs.
