Inside, the cottage has been beautifully renovated and furnished with a calm, contemporary feel. The ground floor is open plan, with an elegant living area arranged around a wood-burning stove and Smart TV with Freeview. Built-in shelving and soft lighting add character, while a large rug and relaxed seating make it a welcoming space to unwind.
The kitchen sits at the other end of the room and features soft blue cabinetry, brass fittings and a central island with wooden bar stools. It’s fully equipped for cooking at home and socialising, with plenty of worktop space and a Belfast-style sink. Large windows with plantation shutters bring in plenty of natural light. Also on the ground floor is a small workstation tucked beneath the stairs, creating a quiet spot for catching up on emails or remote working.
Upstairs are two gorgeous bedrooms. One is arranged with a king-size bed and panelled headboard wall with bedside lighting, while the second is a double bedroom. Both rooms are light and calming with shuttered windows and simple, tasteful styling. The family bathroom is also on this floor and features a large walk-in double shower with brass fittings, subway tiles and plenty of space.
Mousehole is a very pretty seaside village with narrow lanes, granite cottages and a postcard-perfect harbour, and this cottage sits right in the heart of it all. The fantastic Mousehole Deli & Kitchen and acclaimed no.2 Fore Street are both a stone's throw from the front door, while The Ship Inn is just around the corner. Independent shops, boutiques and small lifestyle stores are all close by, making it easy to wander the village without needing the car. The harbour and beach are only a short walk from the door, perfect for a sea swim, a stroll along the seawall or an ice cream overlooking bay. For exploring further afield, Mount’s Bay, Marazion and St Michael’s Mount are around 20 minutes by car, while Porthcurno beach and The Minack Theatre are roughly 25 minutes away.
The owners of the cottage also own Just Lily, a home and lifestyle shop in the village, where guests can purchase many of the soft furnishings and décor seen in the cottage with an exclusive 10% guest discount.
