Alternatively, a hike of 9 miles in the opposite direction is strenuous but rewards with stunning views as you reach Tintagel, forever associated with Arthurian legends. Popular surfing beach Polzeath is a 7-mile drive; work up an appetite then refuel at one of Port Isaac’s friendly eateries.
