About this property

Cloam Cottage is a traditional, fisherman’s dwelling located in the centre of Port Isaac, on Cornwall’s north coast. This self-catering property sleeps up to four guests and is perfect for a family holiday or romantic break for two, well-positioned near the beach and range of local amenities. There are plenty of characterful features to admire when you arrive; slate flooring runs throughout the ground floor, exposed beams are on show in every room and the sitting room has a large fireplace and woodburning stove to cosy up in front of. The ground floor also contains a well-kitted out kitchen, a separate utility room which includes a washer/dryer and additional storage space, and a family bathroom with a walk-in shower. Upstairs you will find two stylishly decorated bedrooms, one double room and one twin, as well as an additional WC. Much of Port Isaac is unchanged from hundreds of years ago, and you can see this in the picturesque harbour, traditional buildings, and rugged coastline. Port Isaac is known for its winding streets and alleyways, with one of the narrowest known thoroughfares in Britain, aptly named Squeezy Belly Alley! When the sun is shining you can head to the small, sandy beach at Port Isaac or venture down the coast to the larger beaches at Daymer Bay or Rock, and practice building sandcastles, surfing or just relaxing with a good book. Boat trips out to sea, whether fishing or wildlife watching are a perfect way to admire the coastal scenery, while those who prefer dry land can ramble along the South West Coast Path for scenic adventures. For your next Cornish break, stay at Cloam Cottage.

Port Isaac; one of the true Cornish treasures. A beautiful fishing village nestling in a steep sided valley, the old village in the valley remains unchanged from its days of fishing, slate export and smuggling in the previous century. An abundance of small character properties complemented by larger cliff-top retreats, can be found with easy access to the numerous restaurants and shops of the village. The sandy harbour provides an abundance of rock pools as the tide retreats. Only ten minutes drive from the beaches of Polzeath, Daymer and Rock, it is perfect for romantic and family holidays alike. There is ample parking at the top of the village.

What an absolutely beautiful cottage, right in the perfect place of port Isaac. Beds comfy, and property was clean. The only thing is the floor as you walk in to the cottage is a little sandy, but it’s unavoidable as you’re coming straight from the beach. Beds were clean and comfy, as was the rest of the cottage. The only thing If I had to mention, is the shower door doesn’t fully close so the bathroom floor gets wet, but nothing major at all. I’d 100% book to come back here again. We’re missing it already!

Don't go barefoot. Dirty, even after an extra cleaning. Walls, window sills, door frames very grimy. The cleaners are very young...maybe no one taught them to clean.? Lots of cobwebs in corners and on ceiling even after I tried to sweep down. Total deep cleaning and refurbishing needed. At the price, I would not stay again.
