Fabulous quiet location. Lovely 16th century cottage with beautiful views and large quiet garden. Cottage has everything you need and hosts are very helpful and friendly. Enjoyed our break very much and was 'olde worlde' theme decor. Spiral staircase was tricky and narrow and bit difficult to take large suitcases upstairs and bottom few steps were very slippy indeed. Staircase not suitable for elderly or children. Settee very uncomfortable but chairs ok. Previous occupants must have allowed their dog on chairs as damp dog smell in lounge but soon went after a few days. Bit draughty in lounge at night as no door from lounge to kitchen. Had to pay £35 cash on arrival for heating as price had gone up from £25. Picnic chairs were old and uncomfortable but there was basic wooden backless bench set...nicer more comfortable outdoor seating would make sitting in the garden a more pleasurable experience. Whole place probably ready for bit of a refresh and new 'finishing touches' which would then make Downhouse excellent accommodation, apart from the staircase.

This is a beautiful period cottage with a big safe garden.. our dogs loved it too. It’s remote so total silence all around and the night sky staggering to see. Lovely to have a view of the sea too. We loved it here
