Quirky, characterful and wonderfully spacious, Hollyhocks is a welcoming home from home for families and friends, sleeping up to seven guests across three bedrooms. With local shops and a pub just a short stroll away, everything you need for an easy and relaxing stay is close at hand. After a day by the sea, children can play in the sunny, enclosed garden while the grown-ups relax and enjoy a drink or dine al fresco. The shed is stocked with wetsuits, surfboards and other beach gear, making it easy to embrace days of sand, sea and surfing. Four-legged family members are welcome too, making Hollyhocks a great choice for the whole family.

The village is well stocked for family feasts and holiday treats, with a shop offering fine wines and cheeses, freshly baked bread and pastries from the bakery, quality meat from the butcher and freshly caught fish from the local fishmonger. Pick up your favourites and enjoy a leisurely meal together back at the cottage.

There are some wonderful beaches within easy reach. Rock Beach, 1½ miles away, welcomes dogs all year round and, when the tide retreats, leaves behind rock pools that children will love exploring. From here, you can also hop aboard the ferry across the Camel Estuary to Padstow for a memorable family day out. For budding surfers, Polzeath Beach is a popular choice with families, with surfing lessons and refreshments available nearby. Daymer Bay is another family favourite, with calmer waters and a wide stretch of sand at low tide, perfect for paddling, playing and enjoying long days beside the sea.

When you are ready to explore beyond the beach, head out together along the South West Coast Path or hire bikes and enjoy a ride along the Camel Trail between Padstow and Wadebridge. The sheltered waters of the Camel Estuary also offer plenty of opportunities for water sports and fishing. Further afield, discover the picturesque coastal villages of Port Isaac and Port Quin, or simply slow down and enjoy quality time together back at Hollyhocks. With beaches, coastal adventures and plenty of family-friendly days out within easy reach, it is a lovely base for making Cornish holiday memories you will want to return to year after year.
