This cottage could be beautiful with a little bit of attention, especially the cleaning as we had to clean the bathroom, hand print on mirror from wiping condensation and mould on the taps and around the bath. The plumbing sounds like a train coming into the station but this can't be helped, annoying none the less. Could do with an up date on kitchen utensils and also fridge was very loud at times. The welcome pack consisted of weird coffee, no tea or milk and shortbread from Scotland, why when Devon has such wonderful produce.

The location was very nice, the cottage outside was very nice however inside was somewhat dated. Old carpets, and towels were to be provided, we however were only supplied with one each for the week, not even a 'hand towel' in the bathroom. No bath mats. The plumbing needs attention - when you flush the toilet, it sounds like a ship is coming in to dock and the hot tap at the basin, was very hard to turn on and off. There were no baking sheets to cook on but all other items in the kitchen were supplied. The metal strip on the kitchen floor was dangerous and covered over with the bin (it would cut your feet). The welcome pack mentioned was.... some shortbread and coffee. The bed was very comfy and so was the settee and the enclosed garden was extremely safe for my dogs. I believe with some small changes, this cottage would have received a much higher review and it would have been nice to have seen a visitors book....

The cottage is set in an ideal location for local attractions, just a 5 minute drive to Exmoor National Park and Arlington Court. Parking is easy and the cottage has all that you need. It's an older property near a stream and therefore would be difficult to keep immaculately clean, there were some mould patches in the cottage and some of the decor was not pristine but it was comfortable and overall would recommend.
