Just a short drive from Woolacombe and Ilfracombe, this delightful cottage welcomes families and friends, along with two well-behaved dogs, offering convenient parking for two cars, a nearby beach and a toasty woodburning stove. Leave your car in the pub's parking area and make your way into this welcoming, rustic cream cottage. Upon entering this single-storey abode, you will be greeted by a homely, well-equipped kitchen, perfect for preparing home-cooked meals to be enjoyed in the dining room, comfortably seating four guests.

The mock beams throughout the property add a touch of rustic charm, complementing the welcoming amenities. The sitting room, also boasting characterful mock beams, invites you to unwind after a day of exploration. Sink into the plush seating and warm up by the woodburning stove, while catching up on your favourite shows on the Smart TV. As the day draws to a close, retire to one of the two inviting bedrooms. Choose between a spacious king-size bedroom with purple accents or an intimate twin room, beautifully decorated with calming blue walls. Step outside to the enclosed, south-facing courtyard, where you can savour a morning coffee or an evening drink, seated on the outdoor furniture, with the best of the weather and enjoy the option of shelter.

Pack some lunch, and take a short stroll to Lee Beach, where you can enjoy the sunset or sunrise as you take your furry companion on a scenic walk, or use it as a starting point on your epic adventure filled with picture-perfect scenery and wildlife along the Southwest Coastal Path. Close to the cottage in Lee, you can try your hand at paddleboarding and kayaking, with the option to rent equipment on the bay front, or simply set off on your own.

Just a short drive away is Woolacombe and Croyde, where you’ll find some of the best surfing beaches in the area, and opportunities for coasteering are also available in Croyde. Venture out to the nearby harbour town of Ilfracombe, where you can explore its intricate and historic harbour, teeming with quaint shops, bustling eateries and offering boat trips out to Lundy Island. For a day of family fun, visit the Combe Martin Wildlife & Dinosaur Park, a fantastic adventure playground filled with exotic animals, animatronic dinosaurs, and thrilling attractions. Alternatively, immerse yourself in the unique coastal charm of the Tunnels Beaches.

Hand-carved in the 1820s, these four tunnels provide a truly unique experience, offering access to a fantastic network of sheltered beaches and a Victorian bathing pool. Lee Mill is part of the rich heritage of Ivybridge, which was known for its cloth making, and nowadays the original mill is home to a small out of town shopping centre near the river Yealm. A traditional South Devon town with a rich heritage, Ivybridge is off the beaten track but easily accessible from the A38 Exeter to Plymouth road. Ivybridge nudges the edge of Dartmoor National Park and so is surrounded by beautiful countryside and moorland, and only five miles from the beautiful sandy beach at Mothecombe in the South Hams area of Devon. The town’s name comes from the original medieval packhorse bridge over the fast flowing River Erme, which powered Ivybridge’s mills and is well worth a visit, having been replaced by a modern bridge in the 19th century. As a gateway to Dartmoor National Park, there are plenty of trails leading you out of Ivybridge and into the surrounding countryside, including the Two Moors trail leading eventually to Exmoor. The town centre buzzes and has an excellent selection of good coffee shops, welcoming traditional pubs and interesting small independent retailers selling quality local produce and arts and crafts. Ivybridge is an ideal spot to stay in order to explore the best of South Devon’s moors and coast.
