This detached single-storey house is located 150 yards from the beach in Bigbury-on-Sea. With amazing sea views over Bigbury Bay and a modern, nautical style, it is excellent accommodation for a seaside family holiday or for anyone who seeks peace and relaxation. Step up to the porch and you will find yourself in the comfortable and bright sitting room with its dining table, leading to a lovely sunny conservatory where you can snuggle up with a good book on the squashy corner sofa. The kitchen is neat and well equipped for cooking family meals, although your attention may be distracted by the great views to iconic Burgh Island.

The three bedrooms are all smart and comfortable, and, as well as an en suite, the master double has the bonus of doors which open to a private enclosed little terrace. All around the house is the garden, with a little safely enclosed lawn at the back and two brilliant terraces at the front where you can enjoy sunbathing and evening drinks and alfresco supper as the sun sets. The focal point of this family house is the fabulous beach on your doorstep and space has been left in the garage for storing your surfboards and buckets and spades. The beach is fun for all ages, including a popular surf school where you can book tuition or hire equipment.

Walk across the sand to Burgh Island, which features in some of Agatha Christie’s mysteries, then catch the long legged sea tractor back at high tide. For keen walkers, the South West Coast Path is beyond compare, with its spectacular cliff top views and step sweeps down to pretty coves. The golf course in the neighbouring village of Bigbury is challenging for players of all abilities, especially in a stiff sea breeze. If shopping is your thing, you will be in heaven in Salcombe, where the boutique shops are full of tempting treats. Drifters is aptly named, a fine house where you can chill out and enjoy the coastline and slow pace of life.

Beautiful Bigbury-on-Sea is ideal for family holidays. Dusted with sand and lapped by shallow waters, the beach offers safe fun for children and adults alike.
