The cottages are along a private driveway that leads off a quiet country lane just a flat, half-mile walk from the village of Widecombe-in-the-Moor. Here you will find two excellent pubs (The Old Inn and the Rugglestone Inn) and two great cafes, one of which, the Cafe on the Green, has been in business for over 90 years. All of Dartmoor's best attractions are virtually on the doorstep whether you want to walk, horse ride, climb, mountain bike, or just make your way from pretty village to lovely town, tucking into fresh local produce at the wealth of cafes and pubs in the area. Wooder Manor has been welcoming guests to Dartmoor National Park for two generations, and there’s nothing the owners don’t know about helping you make the most of every minute of your holiday. Five comfortable cottages sleep between one and six guests and are every bit as perfect for couples as they are families and friends who want a holiday property that is not only in an amazing location, but which is comfortable in a way that lets you relax while still feeling taken care of.

The cottages at Wooder Manor are set back from a quiet country road just a half-mile level walk from Widecombe-in-the-Moor, a vibrant village rich with traditions. The annual fair has been hosted here since 1850, while the Cafe on the Green has been serving tea and cake since 1926. The village also has two very good pubs with beer gardens and The Wayside Cafe providing further choice, so you’re not short of options if you decide to wander into the village for a bite to eat if you don’t feel like cooking.

Wooder Manor enjoys an enviable position in the heart of Dartmoor National Park. There are a wealth of footpaths to suit all levels of ability, including several lovely scenic circular routes straight from the front door. Dartmoor’s granite tors have drawn walkers and climbers for centuries with Bell Tor being one of the easiest to scale, with a walk that rewards with beautiful views of Widecombe. The area also offers excellent opportunities for horse riding, fishing, canoeing, birdwatching and photography (on-site storage available for bikes, kayaks and outdoor equipment). Dartmoor has three award-winning visitor centres in Princetown, Haytor and Postbridge, where you can find more information about the different walking and cycling routes in the national park.

Central for touring, Wooder Manor is an excellent base for exploring the whole of Devon, including the North and South coasts. There are an abundance of great days out to suit all ages including Becky Falls, Haytor, Buckfast Abbey, Dartmoor Prison Museum, Lydford Gorge, and The Garden House. The kids will love Pennywell Farm, Buckfast Butterfly Farm, Crealy Park, Woodlands Leisure Park and the steam engines of the South Devon Railway, as well as Go Ape, Splashdown Water Park, Haldon Forest Activity Park and Castle Drogo (great for adults and children). Staying at Wooder Manor also means you are within a twenty mile drive of the beaches of the English Riviera.

Wooder Manor offers a variety of accommodation. All cottages welcome dogs by arrangement, are well equipped with cooking utensils, plates and cutlery, and have central heating and internet access. Each cottage has different facilities with two offering ground floor accommodation, one being wheel-chair accessible, and one having a log burner, and each cottage has its own picnic table outside - please check the owner's website for availability, prices and details of facilities in each cottage to see which one best suits your needs.
