Wander the length of the beach, 2 miles of golden sands less than 1 mile away, popular with swimmers, surfers, and windsurfers. Explore the grassland of Northam Burrows Country Park behind the north end of the beach (1.5 miles) and pick up the South West Coast Path from there. Catch the ferry across to Instow (2.5 miles or a 4.5 mile drive) to explore the beach and estuary. Grab a pasty, go out for cream tea and fish and chips, go swimming in the Rock Sea Pool at the southern end of the beach, and play adventure golf at Pebble Ridge (1 mile).
