Surrounded by beautiful rolling hills and magnificent scenery, the rugged beauty of Bucks Mills and Peppercombe beaches are just 8 miles away, whilst Westward Ho!, 10 miles, is popular with surfers and renowned for its beauty and 2 miles of sandy beach known as the Golden Bay. The delightful port town of Bideford, 10 miles, has a good selection of town amenities, restaurants and a weekly market. Take a boat trip to the nature reserve at Lundy Island or explore many pretty fishing villages including nearby Clovelly, Instow and Appledore.
Walkers can join the coastal path or why not cycle or walk the famous Tarka Trail? Great Torrington, known as the ’Cavalier Town’ from the Civil War of 1646, is just 7 miles and has a good range of shops, pubs and restaurants, a delightful pannier market and the highly acclaimed Plough Theatre, which is sure to be a real delight for any and all guests. There is also the Dartington Crystal Factory and a local swimming pool nearby, and for garden lovers, the RHS Gardens at Rosemoor are just a short drive. Golf, horse riding and fishing are available locally, and for family fun there is The Ultimate Adventure Centre, The Big Sheep and The Milky Way Adventure Park close by. Beach 10 miles. Shop 5 miles, pub and restaurant 2 miles.

we had a lovely week away in this lovely rural location quiet and relaxing with helpful and friendly owners.I will definitely bee booking this again as it is ideally suited to explore the lovely north Devon coast line. thoroughly recommend if you are looking to escape for a chilled week away

The Stables are in a beautiful location. There are other holiday properties but that was never a problem. The welcome pack was a very welcoming gesture with a good bottle of wine and snacks. The property is tastefully decorated with comfortable sofas, beds and an excellent shower in a spacious bathroom. One bedroom is quite a small space with a double bed probably not for a very tall person. The kitchen is generally well equipped with easy to work appliances but no dishwasher.The only minus for us was the rear of the policy which was mainly concrete and gravel with a picnic table. We would have liked more of a garden with some flowers and comfortable garden furniture with maybe a table and chairs. The owners have large areas of land and could have afforded to devote more of it to the property. The view from the kitchen window is disappointing after the picturesque front. There is however a field across from the owners property with a table and football net but it is quite a trek to take food and drink to.If we are experiencing a heat wave you do need to bring a couple of fans which are not provided.

Absolutely fabulous stay at this accommodation. Well appointed to a high standard and spotlessly clean.The field, though not secure, was a real bonus for dog walking.Only negatives, which are out of owners control, were WiFi is weak and road to Buckland Brewer is awful; follow owners advice and approach/leave via Stibb Cross.We'll definitely return.
