Outside, the private patio is perfect for lazing on sunny days, sipping cool drinks and ideal for al fresco dining or join in with a barbecue evening in the large garden area which is shared with similar cottages on-site. Being set on a working farm guests are welcome to be in thick of things at lambing time or pop down to one of the lakes for a spot of fishing, wildlife spotting or simply enjoy the canopy of stars unblemished by city lights. The market town of Bideford is nearby and offers shops and quayside cafes or hop on a boat to the wildlife haven of Lundy Island or a coastline cruise. The vast expanse of sandy beach at Westward Ho! makes a fabulous day out for sun-worshippers, toe dippers and surfers. The beach has a high pebble ridge which separates it from Northam Burrows where golf lovers can play on the oldest links course in England and enjoy the views at the same time. A trip to the old fishing village of Appledore or the cobbled streets of Clovelly are wonderful browsing days with winding streets and art galleries galore. An experience of rural life, a perfect break to escape your busy routine.

Straddling the Torridge estuary, the quaint bustling town of Bideford boasts a medieval bridge, town quay, quaint pannier market and vibrant shopping area - all well worth a visit. For the more active, several major surfing beaches, golf courses, theme parks and other attractions are nearby and the South West coast path passes close by on its way into Cornwall. The beautiful cliff-top fishing village of Clovelly is half an hour by road, and the delights of Exmoor and Dartmoor can be reached in under an hour. Surf the waves, stroll through pretty villages, wander along the Tarka Trail, visit a famous garden or have some fun at one of the local theme or farm parks – it’s all on the doorstep.
