The Bushel is a cosy, peaceful cottage in Devon with beautiful views and a welcoming atmosphere. Guests appreciate the friendly owners and the property's proximity to local towns and beaches. While some find the facilities a bit dated, the cottage's charm and the natural beauty of its surroundings are consistently praised. Fishing opportunities and wildlife experiences add to the appeal, making it a favoured spot for a relaxing getaway.
The cottage is generally described as clean and well-kept, with no significant complaints about cleanliness. The provision of good quality towels and a clean environment contribute to a high score in this category.
The location is highly praised for its peacefulness, beautiful views, and proximity to local amenities and attractions. The rural setting offers tranquillity and stargazing opportunities, yet it remains convenient for visiting towns and beaches.
Comfort receives a good score, with guests finding the beds comfortable and the cottage cosy. However, some guests mention that the furniture, particularly the sofa, is worn and could be improved.
Facilities are adequate, with the cottage being well-equipped for most needs. However, several reviews suggest that the facilities are looking 'tired' and in need of updating, which affects the score.
The owners are noted for their hospitality, with mentions of a cream tea and scones provided. While these thoughtful touches are appreciated, it is important to note that such gifts are not guaranteed and may vary.

The views were fabulous and the cottage comfortable. Owners were welcoming and friendly and I particularly appreciated the cream tea which had been left for me.
Roger
The cooker was easy to use and there was plenty of crockery and cutlery. The towels provided were of good quality and the owners very friendly and helpful. The cream tea and milk that was left was very acceptable.
Debra
No sharp knives except 1 bread knife and TV remote buttons very worn and so difficult to control the volume etc. Not sure why a large interactive white board is on the lounge wall. Owners very friendly and welcoming. There was a strong smell of cannabis (weed) all day, everyday - possibly from the house next door. Lovely views, location, and base for visiting various places.
