A lovely cottage in a great location. Well equipped, comfortable and warm. Perfect for a brief stay or even a week. Lots to see and do in the local area. Ideal for walkers and dog lovers. The cottage has everything you will need for self catering and is well appointed. Perfect! Thank you for a great weekend stay. I'm sure we will be back.

Unfortunately, we felt the need to cut short our stay at Kestrel Cottage as the property was very poor indeed. The main issue was the damp on the walls in the bedrooms, bad enough it is there in the first place and not been brought to the owners attention on changeover days but to purposely put pictures on the walls directly over the damp in order to hide it is unforgiveable really. Deliberately hiding it when people have paid good money for the week is very wrong and dishonest. Cobwebs all over the place, damp smells in the bedrooms, a second bedroom with twin beds cramped in when only really room for one single is very poor for a holiday let. Parking can also be a bit dicey as well because its on the main road and not a very wide road at that. The owner claimed he knew nothing of the damp issues but find that quite hard to believe to all fairness, it had just not appeared overnight. So I would not recommend this cottage at all, at any time of the year, very disappointing. We did get some money back from the owner, but were still left out of pocket as we had travelled quite a way to Devon and had to pay lots more for a few nights elsewhere to finish off the week.
