The cottage received mixed feedback on cleanliness. Some guests encountered issues with dampness and outdoor areas affected by windfall plums, suggesting room for improvement.
The location is praised for its peacefulness, with a great pub across the road and beautiful local walks, contributing to a positive experience.
The cottage is described as cosy and perfect for couples, though some guests mentioned low ceilings and a lack of certain comforts like a foot stool and iron.
There is insufficient information to score facilities and maintenance accurately, as reviews mention missing amenities like a washing machine and dishwasher, but do not provide enough detail on the overall state of facilities.
While the owners are noted for their accommodating nature, the lack of a welcome pack, despite being advertised, suggests that thoughtfulness in guest experience could be improved. Please note that gifts are not guaranteed.

Cosy little cottage in a lovely peaceful location. Basic and compact but perfect for a couple and dog (he hogged the sofa). Could do with a foot stool and no iron provided (but I’m sure one would have been if we’d asked). Excellent pub just across the road with super lovely staff, relaxing ambience, gorgeous food and friendly locals. It’s an old property so was a little damp smelling on arrival (not expected) but open windows sorted that and heaters could be used if needed. Lovely little private outside area for when the sun shines and beautiful walks from the front door. It’s small but perfectly formed.

Firstly this is a review of the No. 18 Cottage only as the owners were brilliant and very accommodating On arrival into No. 18 we noticed that the seating area and garden were covered in windfall plums from the tree that were squashed and rotted so we couldn’t use that area at allWe then opened the front door and were confronted with a musty smell of damp and where we immediately had to open all the windows to try and air the place which unfortunately did not work. The air was so bad my wife (who has asthma) had to use her inhaler so we could not stay there at all.The WiFi didn’t work as it kept asking for the owner to log in.There was also no welcome pack and no washing machine or dishwasher which were all stated in the booking listThe good bitsWe notified the owner (Who live in the village Manor House) who were great and very apologetic and within an hour sorted us out with other accommodation in the village that was extremely good service and from then on thoroughly enjoyed our stayWe would highly recommend a stay in the village, nice walks and nice people, the Pub is great little pub and very busy so book early for meals (doesn’t open Monday and Tuesday but there is a great pub in Marnhull the next village that does and serves good food).Hope this helps

This is a great cottage and we had a great time. However there are a number of points that need to be noticed. The description states the cottage has a dishwasher and a washing machine, the washing machine is useful as it allows us to do a mid week wash rather than taking loads of clothes. The cottage has neither a dishwasher or a washing machine which when I raised with the site contact I was told that these items were in the larger cottages. If this is the case it should not be listed under No 18. We also look forward to and get a good impression in the care and attention put into a cottage by the owners by the quality of the Welcome Pack, which again is listed. There was no Welcome Pack......We also inquired about a iron, this inquiry was ignored. In summary, lovely cottage, great pub but not described as listed.
