Just next door, the owner runs the local pottery studio and is happy to offer guests the chance to try their hand at the wheel—an unforgettable, hands-on addition to your stay. I stayed here with my wife, six kids and dog, and there was loads of space for us all to relax and unwind after busy days exploring the local area. Within the village there were lots of bridleways to explore that reached neighbouring areas, plus a pub very close by that we visited a couple of times. Within an easy drive we also took in Crealy’s Adventure Park, the local parkruns (adults and juniors), a visit to Sea Town and Golden Cap, the West Devon carnival circuit, Weymouth Sea Life Centre and Sherbourne Castle - all had a fantastic time. It was lovely to relax in the cottage with a log fire and a game of scrabble after so much fresh air, the kitchen was equipped equipped for cooking big meals and the beds were super comfy. The garden was well-enclosed for our pointer to run around too, and the host Simon was very friendly and happy to chat and answer questions. Very happy to recommend.
