Guests say

Guests consistently praise the cottage for its cleanliness, comfort, and tranquil location, with many appreciating the enclosed garden for dogs. The views from the conservatory are a highlight, and the hosts are commended for their friendliness and helpfulness. While some minor issues are mentioned, the overall sentiment is highly positive, with guests often expressing a desire to return.

The cottage receives high marks for cleanliness, with numerous guests describing it as spotless and well-maintained. One isolated comment about mouldy bread suggests a rare oversight rather than a common issue.

The location is praised for its peace and quiet, beautiful views, and proximity to local attractions. Some guests found the surrounding narrow lanes challenging, but this did not detract significantly from the overall positive experience of the location.

Comfort is a strong point for this cottage, with guests finding the beds and sofas comfortable and the sunroom a particular gem. One comment about the size of the double bed suggests room for improvement, but overall, guests are very satisfied with the comfort provided.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, with the cottage described as well-equipped and having everything needed for a stay. The enclosed garden is frequently mentioned as a plus. A few guests noted the need to bring certain supplies, and one mentioned a dirty washing machine drawer, indicating minor areas for improvement.

There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the hosts. Therefore, while the hosts are described as welcoming and helpful, there is insufficient information to score this category.

Owners were welcoming, friendly and helpful. Weather wasn’t the best and we appreciated having a DVD to watch when we returned early because of the rain. One small suggestion I would like to make to the owner is a small welcome tray would be appreciated for those who have travelled a long distance as there is no local shop to purchase milk, teabags, etc. The local pub at Shave Cross didn’t start serving hot meals until 5 o’clock.

We had a lovely stay. It is exactly as advertised and very clean. Owners very welcoming and helpful. Most of the roads around are narrow lanes but are not at all busy. Would definitely recommend a stay here if you want peace and quiet.

The cottage was great and the garden was brilliant for our little dog. The view from the conservatory was beautiful and it was a truly tranquil and relaxing place to stay. If we revisit the area we will certainly book the cottage again.
