Walks begin on the footpath in our field, winding through the countryside. Lovely village pubs wait with a warm welcome. The Jurassic Coast is on our doorstep and beautiful seaside towns are ready to explore. Back at the cottages, coats are shrugged off, paws and people settle in and the rest of the evening takes care of itself, whether that’s the TV on, a board game, or an early night. With the Jurassic Coast in easy reach, Bridport and West Bay just three miles away, and Dorset and Devon unfolding in every direction, Travellers Rest is well placed for wandering this beautiful part of the world. Bridport, a charming market town built on the River Brit, with a long history of rope and net production. The flax threads were formerly twisted into rope along the long, broad avenues and passageways between the buildings, which are now lined with an interesting array of stores, restaurants, and inns. The spectacular Jurassic coast at West Bay, now a World Heritage Site is 2 miles south of Bridport, while Lyme Regis is only 10 miles away. This is an excellent location from which to explore West Dorset.
