This delightful detached thatched holiday home, with great country views is set in the lovely village of Netherbury in the heart of west Dorset. It is ideally located for exploring the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site with its stunning coastal scenery. The coastal town of Lyme Regis, the market town of Bridport and Beaminster, which is known for its historical heritage are well worth a visit. There are many places of interest nearby including Furleigh Estate Vineyard and Winery, Forde Abbey and Gardens and The National Trust’s Montacute House. After a day out exploring there is a village pub nearby where you can enjoy an evening meal. Beach 6 miles. Shop 3 miles, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.

This very picturesque cottage has much to recommend it, for the views the area and the quiet lifestyle. However, if you are over 5 feet tall you will find yourself walking around in a constant stoop by the end of the week. I not only brained myself on the door frame several times but on the ceiling at the top of the stairs and at the head of the bed. Saying that, everything else was very comfortable and cosy. The heating and shower were fairly easy to use and the kitchen had everything you needed, albeit being a bit on the small size if you had two people in it at the same time.The only fly in the ointment was having a pair of neighbours that lived in an enormous white house across the road; that had a drive you could easily park ten cars in, insisting I move my car from what I thought was the space allocated to Little Thatch to further in that space, making for a much more difficult (and dangerous) exit and entry.Our small dogs also enjoyed the large garden. However, from the parking area to the front door is a grass path, which is not fenced in and so dogs can easily find their way onto the road, which luckily is very quiet. All in all we had a very nice stay which was much enhanced when we discovered, what can only be described as a "bosky dell". A wonderfully, shadowy dog walking heaven, that is down a very steep hill to the local magnificent church and something which is possible the local manor house. Other than this the area is not the best place for dog walking.

Gorgeous little cottage in a beautiful area. Kitchen well equipped, bed is very comfort and lots of storage despite the size of the cottage. I gave 4 stars because the toilet needs some attention as it doesn't flush properly. Other than that everything was really good.
