Weymouth has something for everyone thanks to its beautiful, golden beaches, first-rate watersports amenities, and active harbour. Drive a short distance to Portland, a wild island connected to the mainland by Chesil Beach, home to the National Sailing Academy and a stunning stretch of coastline designated as a World Heritage Site. Discover the Roman roadways, fascinating museums, and ruins of Maiden Castle in old Dorchester. Travel along the charming coastal roads and stop at Abbotsburys, a swannery, and subtropical gardens. You can also visit Casterbridge, a 7-mile drive away, written by Thomas Hardy. This is a fantastic spot for a jam-packed holiday because Monkey World and the Jurassic Coast are nearby.
