The Hideout in Dorchester receives praise for its welcoming hosts, spotless interiors, and pet-friendly environment. Guests appreciate the beautiful garden and the property's proximity to local amenities, including a pub and shop. The cottage is well-equipped and ideally located for exploring the area and enjoying peaceful walks. Some minor maintenance issues are noted, but overall, guests report having pleasant stays and are likely to recommend the property.
Guests consistently describe the cottage as spotless, indicating high standards of cleanliness. One isolated mention of a musty smell suggests a minor issue that does not broadly affect the overall perception of cleanliness.
The location is praised for its peacefulness, proximity to a friendly pub and shop, and suitability for dog walking. The area is appreciated for its beauty and convenience for exploring local attractions.
The property is generally considered comfortable, though some guests mention the property can get hot and the bedroom and ensuite are tight for space. The garden adds to the comfort by providing a relaxing outdoor space.
Facilities are well-regarded, with the property being well-equipped for a holiday stay. However, points are deducted for maintenance issues such as difficult door locks and sliding doors that do not fully close.
The hosts are noted for their friendliness and the welcome pack, which adds a thoughtful touch to the guests' experience. While gifts are mentioned, it is important to note that such offerings are at the hosts' discretion and not guaranteed.

The sink in the bathroom is far too small. The 2 sliding doors didnât close right up (stops not put in the right place?) which previous occupants had noted. The door to the property needs some sort of blind (even though it is opaque glass). Small bin or something similar in the bathroom is needed. Overall we had a good week and it was well placed for local trips. Also the village had a pub (which also did food) and a small well stocked shop. A nice welcome pack was appreciated. The owner said that he had plans to open up an adjoining room to the unit. Overall we were quite happy with the week here and would probably stay again.
