Sitting in the Toller Valley and within the courtyard of Lower Dairy House, The Neap has characterful features including exposed stonework, beams and high ceilings The bijou accommodation has been thoughtfully designed and furnished to offer a comfortable setting which includes an open-plan sitting room with a wood burning stove, a separate dining area and a well-appointed kitchen. The attractive bedroom has a king-size bed, plenty of storage and french doors which offer pretty views of the hillside opposite and lead out to the quiet lane and parking area. A stylish bathroom with overhead shower, wash basin and WC completes the accommodation.
Outside you will find a sheltered gravelled courtyard, the perfect place for enjoying your morning coffee or an al fresco meal whilst looking out across the pretty garden and the owners' pond, and listening to birdsong (ornamental pond only and not for guest use). Steps lead up to a wild corner of the garden where you can sit on the bench and take in the surrounding views or watch the bees and butterflies keeping busy.
Toller Fratrum is more hamlet than village, situated at the end of a narrow lane off the A356 above the confluence of the Rivers Frome and Hooke. The parish is an ancient one and was held by the Knights Hospitallers of St John of Jerusalem during the mediaeval period. There are numerous footpaths and bridleways in the surrounding area, and stunning walks to be had at nearby Eggardon Hill, Kingcombe Meadows and around the wider Toller and Frome valleys. When taking a break at The Neap you are ideally situated for exploring the numerous quaint and picturesque villages in the area including Toller Porcorum, Hooke, Maiden Newton, Cattistock and Powerstock, with the towns of Dorchester, Beaminster and Bridport within easy reach.
For coastal walks and seaside trips, the Jurassic Coast is just a short drive or a cycle away, with Abbotsbury, West Bexington, Burton Bradstock and West Bay all under 15 miles away. Thank you for taking such good care of us in this beautiful little cottage. We've had a ball! Highlights include a boat ride at Lulworth Cove, seeing the sea monsters at the Etches Collection, Kimmeridge, visiting Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens, Sherborne and The Fridge Cheese shop in Dorchester....There were many others.

What an absolutely fantastic place this is. Perfect spot for exploring - highlights swimming on Hive beach, walking from Hardys Monument, soup and old winchester cheese at Soulshine in Bridport...best bit was being here and eating all your delicious pears!

Thank you for allowing us to share this amazing property and location. We have had a wonderful 3 days. Favourite places: Cogden Beach, Ringstead Bay and Hardys Monument, our hearts have been left in Cattistock. The garden is a wildlife haven!
