Guests say

Badgers Cottage in Weymouth is praised for its charm, well-equipped kitchen, and beautiful garden with views. The location is ideal for exploring Dorset, with a local pub and scenic walks nearby. Some guests noted the cottage's historical character adds to its appeal, though the low ceilings and compact bathroom may require some adjustment. The welcome package was appreciated, adding a touch of thoughtfulness to the stay.

The cottage generally receives positive remarks for cleanliness, with guests finding it well-kept and tidy. However, one review mentioned an overgrown garden and dog waste, which suggests occasional lapses.

The location is highly praised for its peaceful village setting, proximity to local attractions, and accessibility to coastal walks. The closed village pub was a minor drawback for some.

Guests find the bedrooms and living areas comfortable, with a cosy fireplace and secure garden. However, the steep stairs and low ceilings posed some discomfort for taller guests and those with mobility issues.

The cottage is well-equipped, especially the kitchen, but feedback indicates the need for bathroom improvements, better lighting, and some maintenance issues like a dripping shower and fridge shelf.

The welcome package was a delightful surprise for guests, demonstrating thoughtfulness. However, as not all reviews mention gifts, it's polite to note that such gestures, while appreciated, are not guaranteed.

It was excellent! The small garden was ideal for the dogs and the location meant we could get to several places within an hour - Lyme Regis, Bridport, West Bay, Weymouth and Portland. We thoroughly recommend it

For what we wanted Cottage clean and tidy although needs the soft furnishings updating as seemed Really worn Had an issue with the TV at first but read over the Information and soon resolved this Hot water was running out pretty quick after 2 showers and had to then wait for hot water Think needs mentioning that the bathroom is really small and if you are on the larger size it's a tight squeeze Apart from things mentioned the cottage was well equipped and clean A possible storage cupboard for food Items as there was no space to put food

It is a charming cottage full of character and very comfortable. The equipment was first class. For a cottage of this age and nature it is very spacious apart from the bathroom which we were warned in advance was very compact. There was a large enclosed garden at the rear safe for our dogs with a huge fruit laden apple tree. We are very mobile pensioners in our late seventies, but the challenge of the steep steps from the back of the cottage to the first level was daunting and from a safety point of view really required some type of hand rail to avoid potentially a serious accident. The location of the cottage for touring the Dorset coast is ideal. It is a shame that the Elm Tree pub opposite was closed down as this would have been a great asset during our stay. The village is charming and the walk down to The Fleet is worth the effort. All in all a most enjoyable Autumn break in this homely cottage.
