Lilac Lodge was beautiful, it had everything you need for a short stay and even provided towels and mud daddy for the dogs, was very much appreciated. Location is lovely and peaceful, loved waking up to the sheep and chickens!! We found it a great base for days out but then we didnt mind travelling an hour or so to places such as Cotswold, Monmouth, Farmers Dog/ Clarksons Farm. Forest of Dean is beautiful and only a short drive to Beechenhurst and Mallards Pike that have facilities you may need such as cafes, toilets etc while you explore the well sign posted routes around the forest.

the lodge is a fantastic place, can not fault the cleanliness, very spacious for 4 people. Upstairs bedroom was amazing, bed very comfortable and lots of space and storage areas. Well stocked kitchen, everything you will need for cooking. Downside is the gravel drive we had 2 dogs one of them was fine walking on it the other struggled. It would be nice if the left hand side of the drive from the house was laid with grass. Having said that it was a small problem and we coped. We are hoping to return and stay there again.
