The cottage itself was lovely. Secure, well equipped and in a tranquil location. The owners came to say 'hi' - a nice touch. There were signs of wear and tear but that's to be expected. Not a lot of room in the kitchen to store food. The boiler in the bedroom took a bit of getting used to. The outside was not what we were expecting. Instead of the lovely grass area for our dog immediately outside, the patio area was fenced in. There are facilities and sights locally but, if you're after the more traditional Cotswolds experience, you'll need to travel.

Spacious and open-planned living with an enclosed patio area. The grassed area shown in the photo is not part of the cottage. The kitchen is well-equipped with all you could need, but without the usual charity shop hodgepodge of items., but still no where to put your own food. I had to keep the dog food in our bedroom. The shower in the main bathroom is big enough to move about in comfortably and there is a bath in the en-suite for those that prefer them. The floor is tiled so easy to keep clean if you have dogs or have any cooking spills. The vacuum cleaner actually had an empty bag. Everything was clean and comfortable. It was warm enough not to need the heating. There were fenced footpaths leading out through the fields for pleasant walks and also a grassy area for dogs to run around in. We were visiting relatives, but there's plenty to see and do in the area if you just want a break away from the hustle and bustle, but not isolated.
