Poppy Cottage is a cosy two bedroom cottage which caters for up to four people, with an open plan living area, a walk-in shower and a wood burner. There’s a ground floor bedroom with a super kingsize bed which can be single beds on request, with another kingsize bedroom upstairs with an en-suite shower room. Children are welcome at Poppy Cottage and a travel cot and highchair can be provided on request.
Within easy reach of Cheddar Gorge and Caves, Wookey Hole, Wells with its magnificent cathedral, the renowned Clarks Village shopping outlet at Street and National Trust properties at Clevedon Court, Tyntesfield and Montacute House. Splendid walks and cycle trails, and nearby Chew Valley Lakes is a modern reservoir and a mecca for birdwatchers and fishermen. Further afield are Exmoor National Park, the re-developed docklands and shopping of Bristol, and the memorable regency architecture of Bath. Beach 5 miles. Shop 3 miles, pub 1½ miles, restaurant 5½ miles.

We really liked this accommodation but with a couple of provisos. The first concerned us both and that was the staircase. I am 77 with bad hips and knees and my wife is 78 with a bad back. We found the stairs to be rather steep and the lack of an additional handrail made it really difficult for me to descend the stairs. By trial and error we found how to use the Tassimo and the lack of any instructions for the equipment a bit unsettling. Finally, as a retired Fireman/Firefighter of 25 years I noticed there was no means of escape from the upper floor ( I didn't really think about this until we were ready to go home !). Should there be a fire anywhere near the foot of the stairs and guests were asleep on the upper floor , how would they escape ?? Apologies for any dramatics but I write as a "self caterer" for many, many years and write what I think needs addressing.

Just back from a fortnight at poppy cottage and what a lovely place .. cottage was spotless and brilliant for the dog , lovely enclosed garden so the dog can come and go and of course the humans made use of the hot tub .. and beautiful garden area with very comfortable outdoor seating and very private .. you can hear the horses neighing the fields but a couple of minutes drive and you are in Weston super mare itself .. places to eat and shopping nearby . We used the cottage as a base to go to bath, cheddar, wells and other tourist places so was perfect for us .. thank you to manor farm for having us 😁

Lovely dog friendly cottage, well equipped kitchen and nicely appointed cottage. Hot tub was a lovely treat and outside area very nice and private. Upstairs bedroom spacious and our teen daughter loved having her privacy and own shower room, including the heated towel rail. TVs in both bedrooms and a nice big TV in the lounge. We didn’t use it a lot but when we did it was lovely to have a good size screen. Dog bed, bowls and treats along with a field for quick dog exercise and a nearby longer walk up the track. The lounge seating could be improved, sofa and chair are comfy but the recliners don’t work well and if there was a fourth person the tub chair isn’t that comfy for regular use. Some people have commented about feeling isolated but we felt this was perfect, a lovely farm but a few minutes drive to a very well stocked Asda at the petrol station or a coop a few minutes in the opposite direction. You do really need a car but I feel the advertised location makes this clear. WSM only a short drive for the beach, bigger shops, and plenty of eating out options. Well located for Cheddar, the gorge, wookey hole, wells and even Glastonbury. Overall we had a very relaxed stay. Host friendly and only a couple of doors away of any problems.
