Brook Cottage in Minehead is highly praised for its comfort, modern yet cosy feel, and excellent facilities, including a hot tub. Guests appreciate the secure grounds for dogs, the property's quiet location, and the welcoming hosts. While most found it clean and well-equipped, a few noted areas needing improvement in cleanliness.
Most guests found Brook Cottage to be clean and immaculate, contributing to a pleasant stay. However, one review mentioned the need for a cleaner oven and the presence of cobwebs and spiders, suggesting room for improvement in this area.
The reviews mention a lovely area to explore and proximity to local places, but there are insufficient details to accurately score the location.
Guests consistently report a comfortable stay, with super comfy beds and a relaxing atmosphere. The quiet lane and the secure grounds for pets add to the overall comfort of the cottage.
The cottage is well-equipped with everything needed for a stay, including a hot tub, which is frequently highlighted as a treat. However, a suggestion for more dishwasher tablets or tableware indicates a minor area for improvement in facilities and maintenance.
While guests mention a welcome pack and local information provided by the hosts, there is no explicit mention of gifts. Therefore, it cannot be confirmed if gifts are a regular courtesy, and the score is set to null. Guests should note that such gestures, if offered, are not guaranteed.

We arrived late Friday night, first glances it looked lovely. Through the gated entrance over to the left, and through the gate to an enclosed garden. The welcome pack was hugely disappointing should you not drink as it was a bottle of sparkling wine a share bag of crisps and the aldi chocolate chip cookies and one bonio for dogs to share. The coffee machine is tassimo and there were two pods for coffee and two pods for hot chocolate. This garden is not private as advertised as the owner was the other side of the gate on the drive way, he could see us sitting at the table and started talking to us. The private part of the garden where the hot tub is backs onto the owners expansive home, not sure this is private either. A reminder to take your own washing machine/dishwasher products as you will only be supplied 3 tablets for each product. Although there's enough crockery to let this build up for a couple of days and hope it all comes out clean first time. In the kitchen/living room there's a huge patio door with no blind or curtain should you wish to keep the rooms cool during the summer. The same on the kitchen window. On the open plan stair case there's a huge sky light which can't be opened to let air in and there is no blind this is great at 4.50 in the morning. However there is a skylight window in each bedroom be sure you don't leave these open when it's windy as you'll get a text from the owner asking you to close them. If you like spiders and cobwebs this is the place for you. There is mould in the shower between the tiles, the vacuum was empty but it was clogged with dog hair sorry I didn't fancy sorting this out to use it. The ironing board cover is stained, another item not up use. The living room rug had plenty of stains and a funky smell. There were lots of finishing touches/attention to detail missing. Which is a shame. I washed the towels provided as they wanted is to use the same towels all week. I gave this property three stars as they could do much more for the guests.
