9 Malthouse Court is a cottage in Watchet, Somerset, appreciated for its excellent location and comfortable beds. Guests have enjoyed the convenience to local amenities and the secure, pet-friendly environment. Some guests mentioned receiving a warm welcome with thoughtful touches like wine and milk.
Reviews on cleanliness are mixed, with several guests finding the cottage clean, especially the kitchen and bathroom, while others noted issues with dirty floors, blocked drains, and a need for better maintenance. The overall impression suggests room for improvement.
The location is highly praised for being central, convenient, and close to local attractions, pubs, and restaurants. The availability of free parking is also appreciated, making it an ideal base for exploring the area.
Comfort levels are generally good, with positive remarks about the quality of the new double bed and the cosiness of the cottage. However, some guests found the living space small and the furniture, including the sofa and patio furniture, uncomfortable.
Facilities have received criticism for lacking essentials like a washing machine, wardrobe, and baking trays. Maintenance issues such as a blocked bath plug, poor TV reception, and a leaky shower were also reported. Some updates have been made, but further improvements are needed.
While some guests mentioned receiving gifts such as wine and milk, there are not enough references to consistently assess the level of thoughtfulness across all reviews. Therefore, it cannot be guaranteed that such gestures are a standard practice for every stay.

Watchet is a great little historic village with place to eat and drink. The actual accommodation does have some off putting features. On arrival at the front door the door mat is in half and worn out, the front door is in need of a repaint. Entering the house there is a strong smell of dog. The wooden furniture is falling apart and we had to screw on one of the table legs to make it safe. The wooden floor is dirty. The micro wave is rusty inside and the turn table does not work. There are no oven gloves or surface cleaning products. The tv volume changes during viewing. The rear patio area is horrible a dead plant a rotten wooden shelf and grotty paint work. The bed is very comfortable. The bathroom needs a shelf. The shower leaks and there is mold next to the toilet, water has leaked through to the down starts ceiling. This accommodation could be so much better with a bit of tlc and a good clean. First impressions are very off putting, it is clear that the maintenance of the court yard is none existent.

Nice comfortable cottage, comfortable bed and good shower. Flooring was dirty, needed a good mop, sweet and crisp papers down side of sofa. Mould in bathroom and where bathroom had been leaking unrepaired damage to sitting room ceiling. Courtyard really needs some TLC, dead plants, rust stained walls, not inviting at all. Kitchen very basic and toaster not working. Washing up liquid and soaps all watered down (just means you use twice as much!!) Did enjoy our stay but too many niggles to recommend or return, all easy little fixes that by looks of other feedback have been mentioned before and ignored. What could be a gorgeous property is a neglected property.

The cottage was very clean and the beds were super comfy. Great facilities if you want to cook meals (although we ate out mostly. Totally enclosed so we knew our 2 dogs were safe. Will definitely return
