Guests say

Bethany is a well-equipped, comfortable bungalow in a quiet cul-de-sac, offering a relaxing base for exploring Brixham and the surrounding area. Guests appreciated the spacious rooms, enclosed garden, and dog-friendly features. The property is praised for its peaceful location and helpful neighbours. Some areas, such as the garden and driveway, could benefit from maintenance and clearer information, and a few guests noted that a refurbishment and deeper clean would enhance the experience. Overall, Bethany provides a pleasant stay with thoughtful touches, making it suitable for families and pet owners.

Several guests found the property clean and tidy, especially the living areas and kitchen, but others noted issues such as mould, dusty areas, and the need for a deep clean. Some mentioned unpleasant smells from the hoover and dog mess in the garden. Overall, cleanliness is adequate but could be improved.

The bungalow is situated in a quiet residential area with good access to Brixham and local shops. Guests enjoyed the peaceful setting and found it a convenient base for exploring, though some noted the uphill walk and parking challenges due to the steep drive and limited on-street parking.

Guests generally found the bungalow comfortable, with spacious rooms and a cosy atmosphere. However, several reviews mentioned an uncomfortable double bed and noise from plumbing, which affected sleep quality for some. The living areas were praised for being warm and inviting.

The property is well-equipped with a modern shower, enclosed garden, and all essentials for a family stay. Some guests highlighted maintenance issues such as an overgrown garden, steep and difficult driveway, and minor repairs needed. Facilities are good but would benefit from some updates and attention.

Guests appreciated thoughtful touches such as a welcome pack and seasonal decorations. However, please note that such gifts are not guaranteed for every stay. The property is dog-friendly and provides a safe garden, though some guests suggested improvements like an outside light for night-time use.

Really needs updating and tidying up. Large cracks in the walls. Very loud noises when flushing the toilet and turning on taps. Would be good to have a sink in the toilet to wash hands. Garden really needs tidying up was not nice to sit in. Drive could not be used as very steep and this wasn’t advised. Could be a really great place to stay if it has a little bit of tlc. Great location

Bethany was a lovely haven. We had pretty bad weather and the cottage was a lovely place to stay warm and dry. Nice views looking over roofs and gardens. Neighbours were also really pleasant and yes the drive is quite steep but on their advice we just parked across the drive entrance. Everything we could have possibly needed and good access into Brixham, Totnes Paignton and much more I’m sure if we’d had the sunshine to venture out.

This cottage is in a quiet residential area of higher Brixham. Views are across the houses and hills. It’s about 30-40 minutes to walk into Brixham. Parking is not as pictured or described. The drive is very steep and we scraped the bottom of the car trying to reverse onto it. A neighbour saw us and said everyone does that. We had to park on the road over the drive. Fortunately we only have a small car as there were residents cars parked outside the property too making the space small. You would struggle parking an estate car. Our car was also hit by a neighbours car whilst we were parked. Walking up and down the drive would be difficult for people with mobility issues. There is a fully enclosed garden which is great for a dog and young children - just need to make sure the side gate is secure, The ground is a little uneven in parts and has steep steps without a handrail. Outside light is good for in the dark. Unfortunately there is nowhere to sit unless you carry the folding chairs in and out. A permanent bench would be useful. The double bed was awful! Way beyond its best and saw me sleeping in the other room in one of the single beds a couple of nights. The double bedding was not fit for purpose with the bottom sheet constantly coming off and the duvet cover being too big for the duvet. Before I could put my clothes in the wardrobe I had to clean them with the hoover as they were full of bits. The hoover was very smelly too. All this said the bungalow is well equipped, has a lovely wet room and has everything you need.
